I booked a 7-night yoga retreat at Son Manera through IndigoUrlaub in Februrary 2024, and stayed in a single room with terrace. Location: The area is beautiful and peaceful, with views across the countryside and the pretty town of Montuiri, amidst almond orchards and orange groves. The finca has everything you need for a comfortable retreat, including large bedrooms in an authentic style, indoor yoga rooms and outdoor yoga platforms, many comfortable outdoor and indoor areas for relaxing or chatting, fantastic massage and treatment options, gardens, bikes, access to walking trails, pretty indoor and outdoor pools, and a sauna. Montuiri is pleasant to walk around, although at this time of year it was quite empty. There is a helpful pharmacy and a small market, plus some impressive stone ruins and windmills. Food: There were plenty of buffet options at breakfast and dinner, entirely vegan and vegetarian, in a Mediterranean or specifically Majorcan flavor. The desserts were always incredible! Lunch was simple but filling. The cooks really cared that we enjoyed their meals and took some special requests during the week. It was nice to have tea and fruit available throughout the day; I also brought some of my own granola bars and small snacks for the room. Yoga: This was the main reason I chose this retreat -- twice daily yoga, before breakfast and dinner. The instructors were nice and knowledgeable; each practiced a different style. I most enjoyed the few days when we broke into two different groups by intensity levels. On other days we were all together in one room, where there was a little bit of grumbling from people who found the instruction either too intense or too easy. The instructor responded well by adjusting her instruction to provide what different people needed from class. The room was unfortunately crowded, which I found a bit awkward and distracting. I also would enjoy attending in warmer months when the classes are outdoors. Our classes were all indoors; the heat lamps were really nice on chilly mornings! Spa treatments: I had 2 fantastic “holistic massages” with Kerstin, which combined massage, ayurveda, and craniosacral therapy. This was my first experience with CST and it left my back and neck more relaxed than ever before. Many people recommended Carlos' treatments as well. Outings: If you don’t have a car, I highly recommend the Son Manera organized outings to Es Trenc beach and Sineu to see more of this beautiful island. Community: I was a bit nervous to arrive alone on my first yoga retreat, but I needn't have worried. Everyone in the group was incredibly warm, kind, and open-hearted. Nearly all attendees were from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland; one woman was from the UK (with no German language ability) and I'm from the US (now living in Germany). Most of the attendees were also traveling solo; a few of them came with a partner or friend. We ate all our meals together, went on outings together, and became friends for
