Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center

Our Annual Conference was held at the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel and Spa, last week. We were welcomed and greeted immediately by the Valet Staff, managed by Dante and Alex. They provided quality service daily. Dante and Alex exceeded all expectations each and every day. They and their staff were courteous, energetic, and extremely patient at all times. Crystal, the Front Desk Manager, also ensured that all needs and nightly stays were comfortable and welcoming. She too checked with our attendees daily to ensure that all needs were met. When Room Service was ordered the Chef made sure that all items requested and their condiments were included. The order was thoroughly reviewed prior to delivery, and the food was very delicious. The Renaissance was a true home away from home!

The hotel was so comfortable! My room was spacious and the bed was cozy! Jonathan with the valet service made check in and check out a breeze!

The hotel can be so much more if the housekeeping staff fulfilled their responsibilities, the front desk staff were more customer service focused and oriented, and the hotel is better maintained. My husband and I stayed at this location from 07/08 to 07/10. Upon arrival, it seemed like a really nice hotel and comparable to the Renaissance in Ross Bridge where we stayed prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, it pales tremendously in comparison to the Ross Bridge location. Please refer to attached pictures of the unclean/dirty bathroom, broken bathroom fixtures, unexpected bug guest, in our room. After checking in and being assigned to Room 917 at approximately 9pm, we discovered our bathroom had not been cleaned in a while. The commode had a ring which was evident it had not been scrubbed for some time, there was shower scum build up on the shower door, and previous occupant water marks and other residue in the sink. We had to basically relocate ourselves to the new room because they only had 2 attendants available and after a 45 min wait no one came to assist with relocating us. It was after 10 pm. We were then relocated to Room 909. This room was just as dirty and a bit worse than the first room, #917, because this room’s commode included the ring and stains from the previous occupant(s). We were relocated to Room 525 by the manager on duty. He tried to provide some compensation by assigning us to a larger room but it was closer to the outside band area (much noisier) and the view of the fountain was now obscured by the front entranceway. So, the third room was noisy, less of a view, AND the bathroom tissue paper holder was broken from the wall and the light switch plate was cracked/broken. It was around 11 pm at this point and we were weary from traveling. I went to the front desk and informed the young lady that the bathroom fixture and light plate were broken. She said okay and that she would inform the manager. We never received any communication or acknowledgement of this problem. The next day we experienced no hot water and an unexpected visitor, a bug, crawling up the side of the lamp. We contacted the front desk. The building engineer came up and he informed us that we should run the hot water from the shower, sink, and tub to force the hot water to our location because it has to come up from the basement. Isn’t hot water suppose to just flow to your hotel room from whatever location it is based in the hotel? He was about to leave when I asked him about taking with him our visitor, the bug??? I handed it to him in a napkin. The hotel owner and management team really need to evaluate and improve many things in this hotel before I would stay there again.

During my recent trip to Montgomery, I encountered the best gentlemen in valet, Diondre and Patrick. I travel a lot and with a lot. These gentlemen were patient, never complained, kept a smile, and kept saying we are here to help. In my opinion, they set the atmosphere for guests to enter and exit the hotel. From my interaction with them, I knew I would be well taken care of and that was my exact experience. I cannot say thank you enough to them for their help during my stay. If you visit this hotel, be sure to look for them!

Had a 2 night stay. Could hear the trains all night from our room, possibly not from other side of room as well as a street performer who blasted from a loud speaker music each evening for 2 hours or so. No housekeeping despite my asking after returning at lunchtime and being told the housekeeper would do the room, we were out almost all day and definitely no housekeeping. And finally the package we booked (from uk) was called the Murphy package and included free self parking and a $25 per night credit which would be offset against things we bought in the hotel. We checked this with receptionist who checked us in and she in turn double checked with another colleague, he also confirmed free parking a credit would be offset against spend in hotel! You guessed it they have not given us the $50 credit and arguing still despite it being 3 weeks later and much correspondence! Very disappointed! We went out of our way to visit Montgomery and this has soured our experience. Come on renaissance hotel and Marriott.

Stayed two nights at Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa. I have stayed here a few times over the past several years. Nice hotel. I had a great room overlooking the river. The room was clean and comfortable. I reported one maintenance issue that was corrected quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has an outdoor bar on the front of the hotel that was directly below my room. They have nightly live music. The downside is I could hear the music in my room. Fortunately it ends at 10:00 pm; however, it was loud enough to be noticeable prior to then. Convenient location if you are downtown. I'd stay here again.
