Although it is a hotel, the room is very spacious and clean. The decoration is European style and has a fireplace heater. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet rooms. The shower room is very spacious and the water pressure is high. There is a balcony and a courtyard with many green plants outside the room. The environment is beautiful. I especially like that they also include breakfast, which is very rich! It's about a 5-minute walk to the beach and a large supermarket. It's definitely worth a family vacation!

I cannot say enough about the high level of service at this hotel. From the moment of arrival, the staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The valet, front desk, and housekeeping staff were super pleasant and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The rooms were a nice size and very comfortable. The window seats were a great place to sip a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. Breakfast tray in the morning was simple but sufficient. Nice way to start the day. WIFI was easy to access and worked well. The location of this hotel can't be beat. Steps away from the Aquarium, restaurants, shops, and of course the beach. Evening wine reception was nice touch. I will say that the decor is a little dated and could use a refresh. However, it did not detract from the pleasantness of our stay. One thing to note - parking is valet. $32/day.

Location is good! Although service for 5 Star should be as it is in protocol. I have asked to deliver tea bags which I wanted, they provide in the room very strange flavor which is not common, I have asked via phone to provide me normal English breakfast but I was refused that they don’t have it. I still think with such a price and star hotel should satisfy the customers with any need during the stay in the hotel.

The Monterey Plaza continues to be outstanding. From the view of the bay, to the luxurious sheets, everything in our room was for our enjoyment. Every staff interaction, from the front desk to the valet, was friendly, but professional. At the top, the Spa meets your needs, whether it's being pampered or working out on the machines; sipping wine by the outside fireplace is a favorite. Our visit was a wonderful escape from the daily pressures of life.

This hotel used to be amazing. In the past, I would have paid the premium cost for the service, location, and experience. Now, I just can't say that anymore. I have stayed at the Portola hotel a number of times and the last few times, it just hasn't been that great, yet they still charge the same premium price The hotel is in a great location, which is still a draw, but the experience has become average. I love going to Monterey and this hotel was a reason I would want to come back, but now I find myself looking elsewhere. Portola just doesn't meet the expectations they put forward for the premium price they charge. So if you get a good price on that harbor view room, I would say go for it. Note, you may end up with a partial view looking at the roof of a building across the way, with a partial view of the water. But I would stay here again if the price was right. But if prices are the same as some of the other waterfront hotels, I will likely book elsewhere.

Very comfortable hotel conveniently located in downtown Monterey and short distance from 17 Mile Drive. Rooms are spacious and staff is very friendly. Room amenities are: individual sized coffee pot and mini fridge as well as standard hair dryer, toiletries and iron. Microwaves can be delivered to your room by request at no additional cost. The Marriott has a bar and serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and other meals. It is connected to the Monterey Convention Center so if you are attending a conference, this is the best place to be. There are a couple parking garages with hourly rates within a couple block walk, they do not have in and out privileges. Valet service takes about 10-15 minutes to get your car depending on time of day. Mornings were a little longer wait. Wifi is not free unless you are a Bonvoy Member, you can sign up on the spot. Would stay here again.

The Hilton Garden Inn Monterey offers a convenient, comfortable stay in the heart of this scenic California town. Guests enjoy an indoor pool, fitness center, and on-site dining, plus easy access to top attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium. While lacking some local charm, it provides reliable, well-priced accommodations for both leisure and business travelers.
but one of the reception woman(seems like manager) is not very polite.

We spent 3 nights here.. given we had kids under 12 with us, who were excited about using the pool, we upgraded to a room with direct pool access through our patio. The resort is luxurious and has a lot of open areas... doesnt feel cramped for space, especially being a golf course. Kids loved the free smores kit they got to use by the bonfire. The kids play area with connect4, table tennis, putting etc. was cool too. Ample parking space and you can easily get one spot next to the building your room is in.

Needed a ”reasonable” room price and this location offered that. All my typical locations for Monterey/Pacific Grove were extremely high due to the Women's US Open which was being contested at Pebble Beach. Typical rates in the past were suddenly 40 to 59% higher! Tired looking hotel and rooms definitely could use an upgrade. Bed was so-so and room smell a bit musty. Traveling solo as a volunteer for the golf just needed a room with proximity to the golf course and a place to crash. Would I take my wife here for a get-way...No.

Everything was good except the fact of someone pounding on my door at 1:00am then they took off! It was ridiculously unacceptable as they think it’s funny! Other then that, the view of the beach from our room was spectacular. Well worth the cost. Checking in/out was quick and easy.

GGuest UserLet's be honest - Monterey Bay is expensive. I want the most bang for my buck and I feel that I get it at Casa Munras. It is definitely my favorite hotel on the peninsula - and I have stayed at many of them, worked at many of them, and lived in all my favorite cities here. Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove - this hotel is my favorite one that I can also afford on the regular. I love the Spanish style décor. I absolutely love their beds and pillows - I sleep so good here, and the best part is the location. You can walk out of the hotel, down the street, and you're in downtown, walk a little further and you're on fisherman's wharf. Go up the street and you're at the mall. Go a little further up the street and you have the freeway right there to take you to Carmel or PG or wherever you want to go. However, there are a few negatives to this property: 1. The internet is not fast (especially depending on the building you stay in) and they do not give you the option to pay for upgraded internet. 2. You have to pay for parking - which I believe is $17/night, but I just factor that into the cost of the room when I book. 3. Not all rooms offer a mini fridge, you have to pay for an upgrade to get a room with a fridge. What's that about? All rooms should have this! Everywhere!
GGuest UserThey only got 3 stars for service only because my son had forgot the room number when he went to get pizza it was our first day at that hotel . So he went upfront to get the room number and lady at front desk held him there and finally called my room and she said I couldn’t have anyone there that my booking was for one person which it wasn’t I asked her where my son and car were because now she has held him up so long I’m 25 min late for work she says she wasn’t gonna tell me which I was like wtf ? So I went down there showed her my reservation that had two guests. I told her I had to go I was now late for work and she continued to try to hold me up I told her I would come by in morning after work she proceeds to tell me that she was gonna call cops on me for what I do not know but that my boss had to call in 30 min or she was calling the law . I told her that she was in the wrong not I or my son . My son tells me that she told him that she doesn’t rent to …. Pause looks him up and down and tells him people like u . Still I do not know what she meant by that he is a 21 year old kid he is white and has long hair so I’m not sure what she was referring to by that . What is people like my son white ? Cause he has long hair ? Not too sure but that was bothersome to me she said that .. But what I can say is that the owner or manager he called my son to apologize and told him she went to far it was for security purposes her not telling him what room but she took it too far and he made it right . It was a nice room big and very clean from the outside I they look a lil old but it’s surprisingly newly remodeled and spacious rooms
GGuest Userthe best hotel / motel I have every stayed in. The room was amazing. It even had windows that opened to allow fresh air in. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was very large. The beds were comfortable. The main room was very spacious. The room even had a refrigerator and a microwave
GGuest UserFriendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think.
Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining...
The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too.
They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those.
What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially.
All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail.
JJIAHAOI have lived in one of the best motels and the room is very plentiful. The light in the room and the toilet are very bright, the shampoo conditioner has everything, and the charging port is enough. Praise
GGuest UserThe airport to the hotel should be the starting price, the Chinese-like driver actually received 25 knives, be careful of fellow villagers, lie to you without discussion. The hotel is a motel, it is clean, and the room assigned to me is not sunny. The waiter did not clean the next day, the room was not soundproof, the bed upstairs creaked, but the guests were more civilized and quiet. At this price, you can stay for two nights. Walk over to the den monte shopping center for fifteen minutes. No breakfast, no place to eat nearby, the hotel is a street.
JJINA typical American motel with a good location, just across the road is Macy's and some restaurants. There is also a drug store CVS, but unfortunately I did not buy a mask. There is a swimming pool and gym in the hotel, but the pool is small and slightly larger than the bathtub. The gym is also very small
GGuest UserWe just spent the weekend here and the best thing is the location. Great restaurant's within steps of the hotel and just a 5 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf and a great promenade walk along the ocean that go's forever passing Cannery Row and places to stop for breakfast or just coffee. The hotel was built in 1904 and had great antiques but if we stayed there again, we'd request to be in the new building, the one you see the photo's of more modern furnishings. The older part is old and our bed was awful but we saw that they were replacing all the mattresses wishing they'd replace ours. I think we'd stay there again, but in the new building.
CConnector16821240191So this is one of those small Indian places where the owner has renovated an old nasty motel. I'm pretty sure all of the photos here are from before the remodel. The remodeling work is nothing spectacular, but it's a whole new color scheme and surfaces are clean and in very good shape. Unfortunately this place still has pretty small rooms. The parking lot is a little awkward and there are now outside areas at all to enjoy -- not even a park bench. The first time I stayed I was pleasantly suprised - really liked the brand-new bathroom finishes and fridge....especially for the price ! Second time I was really disappointed in a less-than-adequate bathroom cleaning job and maybe not the best bedding. So...I dunno...overall, they deserve way way more than the two stars they're showing here. I wouldn't take a date or family here, but for the low-budget traveler, it's ok for a short stay. Close walk to a 7-11 and a few other restaurants. NOT a close walk to beach or anything else. I'm gonna give this an extra star in order to off-set the out-dated and unfair previous reviews.
陈陈Good location, clean small hotel with ironing board and electric kettle. Motels with good facilities in the United States. The 17miles entrance one or two kilometers away is a lot cheaper than living in Carmel
