Stelle di Monte

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Stelle di Monte. Nathalie and Igor are truly to best hosts in this intimate setting amongst friends. The views, the food, the decor and amenities, everything was perfection. Our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer! We cannot wait to return next year.

My husband and I stayed at Stelle di Monte in October for 4 days. We arrived early because I was not feeling well. After a short overview and tour by Nathelie, Igor showed us the wine cellar and gave my husband a glass of wine. Nathelie got us to our room so I could sleep the afternoon away in the beautiful surrounding area which I hadn’t yet noticed. The next 2 mornings Igor fixed me a pot of tea with ginger and herbs to help get me back on my feet. Nathelie arranged unbeknownst to us for our room to be cleaned while we were having breakfast in case I needed to go back to bed. It was after our first breakfast (delicious BTW) that I was able to take in the beautiful area we were staying. Stelle sits fairly far up providing a beautiful landscape of the surrounding fields, countryside, fruit trees, etc. But to me what was even more beautiful was the view of Montepulciano sitting on a hill about 1-2 km away. The view and the surroundings area are so beautiful. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain and cooler weather so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor area of Stelle but it is ideal for sitting out with a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers. Our dinner at Stelle was phenomenal. The risotto with mushrooms was excellent as was our secondi meat dish. The finale was a limoncello soufflé that was beyond delicious. In fact, I had hoped Igor would have leftovers for our breakfast the next day. Finally, both Nathelie and Igor couldn’t have been more helpful. We had gotten a toll ticket that was incorrect and we had 5 days to get it corrected from the 52 euro charge to the 6.90 euro it should have been. Had it not been for Nathelie we would have never gotten the on line work completed. The book in each room shows what Stelle di Monte looked like when Nathelie and Igor bought the place and the evolution of the renovation to its current state. It is amazing seeing what they bought and what they have created. Their heart and soul has gone into creating this beautiful gem in the heart of Tuscany.

Stelle di Monte is a must stay in Tuscany. It was even more jaw dropping in person. The view looking out your door and at breakfast everyday was unbeatable. Nathalie and Igor’s career backgrounds make them the perfect hosts for your boutique hotel stay, and you will feel spoiled from the start with a welcome drink! They make you feel right at home, and it is clear they are passionate about what they do! Every single detail was absolute perfection, and they were readily available throughout the stay if we had any questions or needed recommendations, etc. The dining experience is superb and something you can’t miss. Book your stay now, this is the best there is!!

We spent 5 nights at Stelle as a family and it was magical. Every review is true: the beauty, the views, the meals, the warmth and hospitality from Nathalie and Igor. So grateful to have experienced this wonderful little piece of earth, hope to be back someday.

We stayed at Stelle di Monte for three nights at the tail end of our Italy tour and it was by far the best experience we could have asked for. Let me begin by saying how absolutely lucky we are to have found this gem, all of the five-star reviews are well deserved and more. The love and attention the Nathalie and Igor pour into this property is overflowing and can be felt by everyone who stays here. The hotel itself is in one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany, with gorgeous views from every angle, but truly the best part of our stay with the hospitably provided and how we were treated not just as guests but as friends. Prior to arriving at the property Nathalie was always easily reachable and communicative though the booking process, she also provided us a list of recommendations for restaurants, wineries, and activities to do in the area (absolutely must use there are so many great recommendations on this). Once we arrived Igor greeted us personally with a glass of wine in the cellar and walked us around the property, explained the history of the renovations, and showed us to our room. We had dinner on site the first night there and it is a must do while staying here! The food was delicious (lots of truffle!), and they had many local wines on their wine list, some of the vineyards we got to visit later on in our trip! Nathalie and Igor also personally ran the dinner and breakfast services and were always available to chat about anything you needed. At the end of our stay Nathalie also helped us with organizing our return taxi to the train station and even waited with us while they were running late to ensure we would make our connection on time; truly amazing hospitably to the very last minute we left. I truly cannot recommend this hotel enough, it is a must stay in Montepulciano! Hopefully one day we will be lucky to return; best of luck on all future endeavors to Nathalie and Igor and Stelle di Monte!!

Our stay at Stelle Di Monte was the highlight of our 3-week trip. In a word, this place is 'Magical'. Natalie and Igor have done an amazing job at bringing Stelle Di Monte to life and their attention to every detail is impressive. From a 'welcome' bottle of wine to the rooms that are somehow both modern and full of rustic Tuscany charm, to the flowers, herbs, and fruit trees throughout the property you can't help feeling a sense of calm as soon as you arrive. Then there is the location which is both convenient and stunningly beautiful. With a short 15-minute walk into the historic town of Montepulciano you are transported back in time. Other renaissance towns are within easy driving distance as well. Between Montepulciano and the surrounding landscape, which is dotted with farms, vineyards, olive groves and forest you simply can't help stopping to stare or lounging in a chair with a glass of wine to take in the ever-changing views. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we were spoiled by Igors cooking. He is a fantastic chef. Using local ingredients, the a-la-cart breakfasts are made to order. Do not miss the opportunity to have a romantic Michelin Star quality dinner in the wine cellar. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer, and we cannot wait to go back!

Stelle di Monte is a slice of a heaven that stands out in a country full of them. My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon here and the authenticity of the place felt so true to the Tuscan region. The rooms were outstanding and well kept, the views were astonishing, and the hosts (Nathalie & Igor) are incredible. You're in walking distance to the town of Montepulciano (we never drove in - day or night) and a maximum ~30-minute drive to a number of local attractions/things to do. Nathalie and Igor are very well connected in the area which is very helpful in terms of finding the little-known pleasantries nearby. Stay here. You won't be disappointed! Mike & Erica

Hard to describe the beauty of Stelle di Monte. The most peaceful idyllic location with breathtaking views is just a short ride from historic town of Montepulciano. The building dates back several hundred years but carefully restored and modernized without losing its unique historical feel. Nathalie and Igor are the perfect hosts and Igor's evening meals are worthy of Michelin stars. ..... and not to mention Nathalie delicious breads, which despite having the recipe I still can't create the same. Definitely would return. Cannot recommend highly enough!!! Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

The property is magnificent with views of the Tuscan hills and the Montepulciano surroundings that are breathtaking. Igor and Natalie are wonderful hosts attending to every detail including a delicious 5 star dinner. The rooms are very comfortable with luxurious views of the area.
