Driftwood Resort on the Ocean

My husband and I stayed in studio 23 for one night. We arrived at dark, but had the code to enter our room. They provided great communication via text. The room had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. There was a mild musty smell, but you got used to it. The resort was very quiet and we were very impressed with all it offered, even though we did not stay long enough to enjoy anything. We were able to walk to the beach for the sunrise and it was beautiful. Definitely will consider coming back in the future for a longer stay with more family, as they offer many different types of accommodations. It was great that you could prepare your own meals in the room and sit outside on the picnic tables to eat. They had everything you would need to do so. The sheets and towels were of the highest quality and the grounds were very well maintained. Beautiful location on the ocean and quite affordable for the area.

My husband and I attended a wedding in Montauk and were fortunate enough to stay at Driftwood on the Ocean for several days. It was truly a wonderful experience. The room was absolutely beautiful with a lovely view of the ocean. Every room had a kitchenette that included a cooktop and a refrigerator. Even though it was October, the room had a little private "mini beach" in the back. There were lounge chairs and a private grill. The room was spotless. The housekeeper, Sandra and the rest of the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job every day. They were always available to guarantee your comfort. The gentleman who did the maintenance, Santiago came right away when I called for something so simple - how to turn on a light! He was so nice and told us if we ever needed him not to hesitate to call. I originally made my reservation through Jay. He patiently answered all of my questions about Driftwood. The second time I called to add more days, Sophie took my reservation. What a delight she was. She was able to update my reservation and address all of my concerns. I made sure I thanked her when I got there. She made sure my stay was a pleasant one and it certainly was! I highly recommend this resort. It is a wonderful place to visit no matter what time of year. We look forward to returning.

Driftwood resort Montauk, NY THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY Room 51 ⭐️⭐️⭐️(out of five) The good- location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️property is right on the ocean. You can hear the mighty Atlantic even with your windows closed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️the beach is clean and they have attendants to bring you chairs, towels , umbrellas. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️outdoor pool. Looks clean , chairs umbrellas towels, restrooms nearby, playground for littles, picnic tables, guest laundry, vending machines. (4⭐️ because we didn’t utilize these areas. )Grounds are nicely landscaped. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️good check in and out system via text. Also they tell you when your room is ready, ordering supplies or service. Downfall was the texting service for supplies didn’t seem to work one day . Maybe we didn’t do it right . ⭐️⭐️⭐️overall room (51) appearance was great. Clean, kitchenette- two burner stove top, refrigerator (smaller than full size but pretty big), dishwasher, dishes, glass ware, cutlery , cookware.LARGE windows and sliding glass doors onto LARGE patio area . Could have 12 people sitting ! Charcoal BBQ. Comfortable bed and couch and dining table. So why only 3⭐️? Keep in mind late august the room was over $600/night. Yea ⭐️patio was listed as ‘private’ on the web site . The entrance is shared. To access 51 at ALL you HAVE to enter 52’s patio. It’s awkward. Imagine- 52’s guests are sitting on their patio and you have to walk past them, through their beach accessories every single time you enter or exit your room. They didn’t seem to happy at times and neither were we. ⭐️there was limited lighting in 51. The overhead ceiling fan had no bulbs in it. Staff said the owners were going or replace them. Staff came in and put in bulbs. Very dim bulbs. We asked for some other type of lamp for evening which they provided. Still, if you wanted to read at night forget it unless you were in bed. No light over the dining table. ⭐️kitchen was functional but owners? Labeled a drawer in the already small freezer as theirs… really? And in the kitchen cabinets they had their own food… what? Filthy crusted with food dishes put back in cabinets . Zero coffee supplied. ⭐️online the pictures depicted a large vanity sink area outside the small bathroom . This was a selling point for me. We like room to spread our toiletries out . We get there and in place of the sink with large vanity? Was a locked closet! The office told us the owners recently started renting and made that area a closet for personal use and they didn’t have time to redo the pics online…. Sorry but there’s zero excuse for not adding on the website that the room has been changed or vanity has been removed. Owners personal items found in a bedside nightstand and also under the bathroom sink. Under the sink was loaded with their items . This bathroom was SMALL. ⭐️closet space was ok. No full length closet only half for short jackets . Good amount of drawer space in a very narrow hall to bathroom. ⭐️outside light appeared to not work. The bulb was loose. Re

We stayed in unit 23. It was a very small and budget room that was great for our needs. The unit next door #22 looked more modern but 23 has a larger bed so we opted for that one. Next time I might just go for the twin beds because it definitely looked very cute when i peeked in. The motel is great its on the beach. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are provided. Beach towels too. The more expensive rooms have a closer walk to the beach they are basically on the beach. there was a pool and a playground. Beach was amazing and we saw several whales. You can also have a beach fire on the pits that were there. You can even buy a metal bucket nearby if you dont see any pits around.

Both my friend & I spent a long time on the website & didn't see ANY mention of a NO REFUND policy. It isn't really on their website actually. It is located on a rental management portal that takes you to direct-book.com in order for the customer to book a room directly online. The result is if you get sick, miss a plane, have any unexpected problem, you will LOSE ALL OF YOUR MONEY if circumstances cause you to change/try to cancel your stay even if you do it 30 days before your arrival date. This is true even after Labor Day. If you aren't expecting this policy, you won't see it until AFTER you have booked a stay. When I found out he policy, I could NOT believe it. Obviously, they make a lot of money if you cancel, because not only are they getting money for a room they did not rent, they can also book people in that room and get paid double! Note: having travel insurance does not guarantee you can recoup your money either.

Gretchen and Kevin were so accommodating and sweet. Place is immaculate and a pleasant place to stay with friends and family. The beach is at your finger tips. All the rooms have the basic home accommodations tv, frig, microwave, wine opener etc. the pool was beautiful. And we found an ice cream vending machine and gym!!! Perfect weekend
