Hampton Inn Helena

It’s truly not worth the aggravation to go here. Which I can’t believe I’m even saying because usually I have a good time staying at Hampton Inn. The manager of this place is deeply troubled. She’s perpetually snarky and angry. Maybe she just has trouble with other women or maybe she’s like that with everyone. But wow. This is the first time I’ve ever started writing a review before we’ve even checked out because the final morning was just so awful. . Just assume at breakfast the coffee will be missing, half the food will be missing, and the stuff thats sitting there is cold (oatmeal and finally the “fresh” Omelettes that were finally put out 7:45am). I understand that food needs to be put out over intervals in the morning but Heaven forbid you politely ask the manager if there’s going to be more eggs put out. “The guy is going to do it!” “Ok great. I didn’t see a guy out. That’s why I’m asking.” She stormed off to go find the guy. Then while I’m literally standing feet from her I hear her saying to the guy, “You don’t even have coffee out! I got people YELLING at me that stuff isn’t out!” I moved onto the coffee area in the lobby to get some decaf. As I was about to get some cream, she stormed over, whipped the cream bucket away, and I said, “Um is it possible to get some before you take the bucket away?” “THATS WHAT I’M DOING. GETTING MORE.” She came back, slammed the bucket back down, and under her breath said, “God people are so impatient!” In a huff, she went back to her lobby desk. I turned and said, “Just so we’re clear: I was about to get cream when you ripped the cream away which is why I asked if I could get some before you took off with the bucket. I wouldn’t say thats impatient.” I heard her mumbling “whatever” as I walked off. —- Also note this was my second day encountering this woman. Yesterday morning I came downstairs at 10:05am because my 8 year old daughter and I overslept due to a late night in. When I looked around for breakfast left over, manager lady with thick snark tone, “Can I help you?!” “I was looking for any left over breakfast but I guess I missed it.” “YEAH YOU DID.” lolololol. Like what? How is that the attitude of a manager? Seriously??? I just walked away. —— When we checked in, there was some convoluted problem with our Booking dot com reservation. That got resolved in ten minutes thankfully. When I asked the guy, “Hey so does your jacuzzi actually work?” “Yeah. I would’ve received a note if it wasn’t.” It doesn’t work btw. The jets don’t turn on. —- Side note on Beds: if you like them firm, then that’s what you’ll get.

We stayed 2 nites and needed a place to sleep & shower. This served the purpose. Nothing fancy, but room was clean and included continental-like breakfast (average rating). Easy access to highway and 10-15min drive to convention center. This was also a good central location for day trips to do some mountain driving, mining exploration, and a comedy show downtown. We had to leave early Saturday, so we missed the farmer’s market.

Pet friendly

Parking was limited. Location is on a very street where people were talking loud and cars driving by right outside the window.

The desk staff was very good yet i did not get fresh linens (not bed) or trash emptied or replenish cups/coffee. Pool was out (according to staff) for quite sometime. Room was extremely noisy from road traffic. Had to turn up tv uncomfortably loud to overcome. Breakfast selections are not good particularly turkey sausage and omelets. Room was initially very clean; room temp very comfortable
