We booked a standard room and we were upgraded to a better room with an amazing view over the Tuscan countryside.
Within walking distance to the historic center.
Free secure parking.
The pool (with a view) must be super nice in the summer.

We stayed at this hotel as part of an organized biking trip so the hotel was selected by the tour company. The best thing about this hotel was the spectacular view over the Tuscan countryside out the back of the hotel. Located at the bottom of a very steep hill, this hotel is right in the middle of town but still very quiet. It has a lovely patio and pool overlooking the countryside. The breakfast room also affers incredible views. The breakfast was lovely, plentiful and varied. Our room was on 2 floors! You walk in to an small welcome area with an armoire, desk and chair and a very nice bathroom. The bedroom was up in a loft style area with a metal curved stairway. Very quirky! The bike storage was not locked but felt very safe and had sufficient charging stations.

Con un albergo del genere si assapora il gusto pieno d'essere in vacanza: la vista panoramica dalla camera nei confronti della val d'Orcia è spettacolare, la sala e i prodotti della colazione sono un portento e poi c'e quel valore aggoiunto dato da una splendida piscina bel curata che raggiunge l'obiettivo previsto!

Ho soggiornato un paio di giorni in questa struttura con un paio di amici per Eroica , non sono una persona difficile, durante la notte e al mio risveglio al mattino ero pieno di formiche , tutto era pieno di formiche letto nella mia valigia e in tutta la stanza per 150 a notte e una vergogna, mi hanno cambiato stanza e ni sono ritrovato sul lato strada e alle 6.00 del mattino tra lavori e passaggi di auto non riuscivo più a dormire , invece delle scuse mi e stato detto che in campagna ci sono le formiche…. Grazie

We have stayed there twice now. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it’s perfect for a short stay . The hotel is in a perfect location as you’ve wonderful views of Tuscany while being so close to Main Street etc . Montalcino is a great base for sightseeing eg Pienza , While the pool is small it’s a welcome addition if the weather is very hot .

Hotel dei Capitani is situated on the edge of Montalcino (only a 5 min walk from the centre) with spectacular views of the valley below. Rooms are quite small but provide wonderful views, a comfy bed and a well equipped bathroom. A good selection of cereals, pastries, etc were provided for breakfast on the terrace overlooking miles of Brunello vineyards below. There are some excellent restaurants in Montalcino so we didn't have dinner in the restaurant.

Excellent location for walking around the center. Possibility to use the hotel parking. Friendly staff, large buffet breakfast. Aperitif by the pool a little expensive. Room not very large but clean and equipped with all comforts. I recommend "lowering" the trees around the structure because they cover the beautiful view of the valley.

This hotel is great. The rooms are very nice, and the staff was incredible. They were very helpful and friendly. The pool is very nice and has plenty of space for lounge chairs. Breakfast was a nice spread. The hotel is in a good location to walk to town and near many restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here.
