I booked a classic room, not in the main building.
But the website does not explain this situation. The other rooms in the main building are more beautiful and feel more upscale, like a hotel.
The classic room type is like a B&B, not like a hotel. It is a few steps away from the main building. The classic room type has two rooms and a common living room. You have to share the living room with the guests in another room, although the living room is basically not It's...but it doesn't feel like a five-star or four-star hotel at all. Although the hotel staff are polite and the service is very good, I just feel unsatisfied with this room here and it doesn't meet my expectations because it's just like staying in a B&B.

For breakfast, you have to walk to the place opposite the main building of the hotel. It is not in the main building, but very close...
In the photo, you have to go up a few steps to enter the room behind the door. Outside the door is the common living room.
To lock the door, you need to pull the key out of the door key position (the power will be completely turned off), then you can lock the door. After locking, put the door key back to its original position...

We stopped by in this pretending good hotel listing a lot of comforts , but we realised that the room paid was very small with an old uncomfortable mattress and a vintage tiny bathroom/shower. They offered us a drink, but at the garden the boy could not accommodate us in a table because could not move a chair from another table. We left and coming back we found a better waiter. The spa is somewhere else, difficult to reach and use. Not very useful. The worst experience was the restaurant service. We arrived at 7.30 after they said we could go and find a table for hotel guests, but they could not accommodate the 4 of us with a kid because a pretending owner said we did not book in advance. In advance when? There were plenty of empty tables, but they could not manage the empty table without a booking. Then the pretending owner with no sense of respect for clients said it was not her business if a I bad mother did not book in advance a table at the restaurant. Quite Rude, isn’t it ? Should this lady work at the entrance of a restaurant? It is clear the lady does not know how to behave with clients and I do hope future potential clients will look for a better location to stay in San Quirico d’Orcia until the property of this hotel will learn how to behave with this kind and business.

La struttura è esattamente ciò che ti aspetti in un borgo storico come San Quirico. La camera confortevole, letto ottimo, bagno pulitissimo. Accoglienza buona ma check in troppo lungo: ci hanno fatto accomodare su di un divano e poi, come due scolari , abbiamo dovuto ascoltare la presentazione di tutto ciò che la struttura propone, cosa che potevamo leggere comodamente in camera. Dopo una giornata di viaggio non è proprio la prima cosa che desideri.... La colazione ottima ma a noi piace di più a self service, più rilassante e con il piacere di scegliere in tutta calma senza la continua corsa delle cameriere.

Increíble el lugar y la gente del hotel muy amable. Los baños nuevos y las camas muy cómodas. Aprovechamos la piscina. El desayuno muy agradable. San Quirico es divino y realmente vale la pena visitarlo. Fuimos caminando a Pienza desde el hotel. Espectacular!

Il Borgo é un Oasi di pace e tranquillità assoluta ,dopo un anno di lavoro frenetico é davvero l'ideale ,la cosa più bella é che ci troviamo in Val d'Orcia a due passi dalle Crete Senesi.....la camera accogliente e bellissima la colazione abbondante buona e genuina

Ci siamo fermati un solo giorno ma è stato davvero piacevole esserci lasciati coccolare dai ragazzi del Palazzo del Capitano. Parte principale di una struttura diffusa di hotel di buon livello in un luogo magico e straordinario come San Quirico D’Orcia 😍

Passati due giorni in totale relax, la location situata all’interno del borgo dispone di tutti i confort, spa, piscina con un grande giardino dove potersi rilassare nel silenzio più assoluto, personale preparato e gentile. Esperienza sicuramente da ripetere.

Abbiamo deciso di visitare la Val D’Orcia io e la mia ragazza e per la prima notte abbiamo scelto il Palazzo Del Capitano a Borgo San Quirico. Devo dire che è tutto stupendo. Sia dall’accoglienza che alle camere. Il personale molto gentile e cortese non ci ha fatto mancare nulla. Anche il ristorante ( che fa parte del relais ) veramente super buono. La piscina è da 10. Potrei dare solo due consigli, le chiavi per le camere magare leggermente più comodo da portarsi dietro è un mini dentifricio da trovare in bagno. Ma sono piccolezze che non hanno per nulla intaccata al piacere di stare lì

Nice hotel, nothing to say, well located in the center of San Quirico d'Orcia with a swimming pool, a spa, and a nearby restaurant. The parking is few minutes by food. All splendid? Not really because I have to report the theft of my watch. It was Thursday August 1st when I saw it last time. That day we went for a tour late in the morning and I left my watch in the room. We closed the room with the key. Who took it? Mysterious! Unfortunately we didn't immediately realise that something was missing. However I have no doubt the last time I saw it was that day. Unfortunately the hotel employees were totally indifferent when we asked them to investigate which employees entered the room, and some advise on how to solve the problem. The fact that there were no cameras didn't help, and it is not a good score for a 4-star hotel given the reception is not 24 hours attended.
