Fairground Inn

Simply the worst lodging experience. Old, rundown and dirty. Bed was hard. Wi-Fi did not work. Place should have been torn down years ago.

I didn't even get a chance to stay here because they canceled my reservation that I've had since January because they were overbooked. I made a reservation for the opening weekend of the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Festival, which is now only a week and a half away, and I cannot find another hotel anywhere reasonably nearby that isn't going to cost me almost double of what I had budgeted to stay at this hotel. I was told that the room type I had booked had some extended stay guests that had been there for several months and they might not check out before my reservation, and even if they did the room probably wouldn't be clean in time for my stay. When I asked if there was any way that I could just be moved into a different room that had a queen bed instead of a king I was told that wouldn't be possible, even though I had been told that the people that were the extended stay guests had checked in AFTER I had made my reservation back in January. On top of that, I was also told that they thought about calling last month in June but decided to wait to see if someone would check out and the room would be available, so instead of giving me a whole month to try and find another hotel, now I'm left with only a week and a half and absolutely no chance of finding another hotel that's within my budget.

The Fairground Inn was close to the Monroe Fairgrounds which served its purpose.

Convenient

Noisy as it was on main Street in town, otherwise a good stay.

It was run down. I nean really run down. The security lock on my door was mangled. The curtains had holes. The floor was stained. No blanket on the bed just a sheet and the old bedspread, which i didn't use got a sleeping bag out of my car.
