Super 8 by Wyndham Monmouth IL

I’ve stayed here routinely for a few years, I have a child attending Monmouth College. The staff are helpful. The property is better than I have ever seen it. Pool is nice, rooms very clean. Excellent customer service. Easy check in/out. I will stay here again.

Was in town for business and we prefer the cheaper hotel since it’s a short stay. The hotel itself wasn’t terrible, clean rooms. Weird smell in the hallways on our first night. My issue was when we were booking, I booked online no problem. A family member called the hotel and was told theres only 2-3 rooms left. Our entire stay, there was employee vehicles, our two and MAYBE 3 other vehicles. They pressured him into buying quickly and I don’t even want to know what they charged him but I know it was more than what I paid. Not cool to take advantage and lie to customers. The hotel was deserted during our 3 day stay. Be safe and book online is all I’m saying.

I recently stayed at the Super 8 Hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making check-in a breeze. The room was clean and comfortable, providing a cozy atmosphere for my stay. I want to mention that the pool was not operational during my visit, but the hotel informed us of this prior to check-in, which I appreciated. It was nice to be aware of this in advance, and it didn’t detract from my overall experience. I would definitely recommend Super 8 Hotel for a budget-friendly stay with great service!

Hotels are a bit limited in Monmouth and since the AmericInn was about $50 more a night, we booked this Super 8 which was about $100. It is easily accessible off of Highway 34 There is free off-street parking with turn around space for larger vehicles. We needed to call to get front desk help. They did come right away and efficiently checked us in. There are two floors with no elevators. We had a king room with a small bathroom (tub/shower) with separate vanity. There was a desk with chair and big open space in the room. There is free accessible internet. Our room had a microwave, minifridge with freezer (which needed to be defrosted), hairdryer, but no iron or board. You could walk to a nearby Country Market and other things are a short drive away. There was free accessible ice machine. The shower was a bit tricky. Common spaces seemed warm for summer temps. Very limited breakfast (waffles) with packaged pastries. It is surrounded by cornfields on three sides!

So, I am a Wyndham DIAMOND member and I spend almost as much time in a hotel as I do my own home. I sometime find innkeepers who ignore or refuse to honor the Diamond Rewards program. This hotel was the opposite. They upgraded my room to the requested room at no additional charge and were so kind and went out of their way to provide excellent service. The hotel and the rooms are older and need some updates but some have been done already. Our room had a fridge and microwave both of which were clean (I say this because a clean fridge and microwave are not always the case). The rooms were dated but spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. I am giving them 4 stars because this is a Super 8, not the Ritz Carlton and for the class of hotel it is, customer service and Cleanliness are the two deciding factors for me. My only real quibble was the breakfast was very lack luster and minimum and there were a few minor maintenance issues. I would certainly stay there again. Thank you for honoring the Diamond Rewards and having great customer service.

Two weeks after my trip I realized that I had left my ring there. They were very thorough in verifying that it was actually my ring & verifying the identity of the person I had pick it up, keeping me updated every step of the way!
