Bei unserer erste „wirklichen“ Safarinacht wurden wir schon bei der Einfahrt ins Lodge Gelände von Zebras empfangen Nach einem schnellen Check-In wurden wir in unsere Zelte begleitet – Diese waren top ausgestattet mit bequemen Betten, Moskitonetzen, großem Badezimmer, Wasserkocher und einer schönen kleinen Terrasse samt Loungemöbel. Der Blick vom Zelt auf Zebras und Gnus rund ums Zelt ist schon einzigartig. Das abwechslungsreiche Abendessen wurde in Buffetform angerichtet und in einem „Restarantzelt“ eingenommen. Beim Frühstück waren leider sehr viele Bienen – die Showeinlagen der Affen die sich am Buffet bedienen wollten sorgten für Unterhaltung. Wir haben das Mittagessen auch in der Lodge eingenommen. Da war die Wartezeit leider ziemlich lang und hat unseren Zeitplan etwas durcheinander gebracht. WLan gab es nur im Restaurant/Bar Bereich wobei wirklich guten Empfang hatte man nur bei der Rezeption. Damit kann man in Urlaub aber gut leben. Was wir erst vor Ort erfuhren war, dass das Hotel seit Juni 2024 mit starken Überschwemmungen kämpft. Dadurch sind Teile der Lodge nicht nutzbar. Der Bereich um den Pool steht komplett unter Wasser. Das ursprünglich Restaurant am See ist in ein provisorisches „Restaurantzelt“ übersiedelt und beim Pool gibt es keine Liegewiese mehr. Trotz einiger Einschränkungen hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt und wenn wieder alle Bereiche nutzbar sind ist es sicher noch beeindruckender.

In plaats van de problemen met worm water op te lossen sturen ze hun gasten weg met een smoes. Buffet diner was zeer ondermaats, personeel niet gemotiveerd. Een deel van domein is onbruikbaar sinds het water gestegen is wat een vreemde indruk nalaat.

Critique difficile sur la note globale : En l'absence d'inondation, j'aurais mis 4/5. Mais avec la moitié de l'hôtel inondé, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une tente au milieu de 3 rangées de tentr, une douche qui ne fonctionnait pas initialement donc il a fallu tout redemenager donc plus le temps d'aller à la piscine. Arrivé au bar, jamais servi au bout de 30 minutes.Il a fallu relancé 2 fois (seule fois de tout le séjour e' Tanzanie,) Sinon gentillesse au rendez-vous, nourriture bonne (sauf les œufs brouillés), emplacement intéressant. A confronter à ceux qui ont connu le lodge dans son état normal et voir les notes à la prochaine saison

The hotel is in the edge of lake Manyara and due to weather changes, the lake has expanded and flooded some areas of the hotel. This rendered some areas unusable (see below) and there have been adaptations to this. The tents are nice and well equipped, the restaurant is good and the food is very nice. Staff are nice and helpful. The drop in stars is due to the toilets and showers provision for tents that were not en-suite. For men there were 2 toilets and 1 shower and for women there was 1 toilet and 1 shower!! These were the only facilities for many many tents. We went to rather basic campsites in the serengeti that had triple that capacity. One day, a chinese guy took a 30 minute shower, and there was a huge queue waiting. Also, because the water is solar heated, everyone else (men and women) had to shower with rather cold water.

Everything I read about this lodge was true. Before even booking my safari I knew I wanted to stay here and I was not disappointed. To the contrary. I was amazed at the quality of the service and the facilities. A perfect jewel. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The place is clean and comfortable. Even if wifi is available only at reception. We didn't have hot water. But cool running water in a 100% functional bathroom was most welcomed after a day in a safari. Part of the camp was flooded so we didn't see many animals passing through except for the mischievous monkeys. You remember where you are and this exceptional opportunity to reconnect with what's most important: the people and the environment around you. I highly recommend. You can go, eyes closed. The picnic boxes are top quality. They think of everything for you before you even have a chance to realize what you need! Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Camp assolutamente sopra le aspettative. Tende confortevoli e di lusso, molto ampie e attrezzate. Le piogge di febbraio ci hanno presentato una situazione diversa dalle foto: il lago Manyara si esaltato di livello inondando il campo. Metà delle tende sono praticamente sull’ acqua. In ogni caso nessun particolare disagio ne è derivato. Anzi situazione più affascinante (senza zanzare). Ristorante ottimo , attenzione solo alle scimmiette che tubano il cibo approfittando di qualsiasi distrazione. Personale ultra servizievole e attento. Piscina ampia pulita e con ottima temperatura. Servizio bar a bordo piscina

Unfortunately, everything was flooded, so it is no longer the same as in the photos. They tried to make paths with sandbags and replace the tents. But everything is actually just under water. It is therefore primitive, improvised and most facilities have disappeared

We had a comfortable stay at Africa Lake Manyara Safari Lodge. The rooms were comfortable for an overnight stay although the property is a bit tired. Towels need replacing, the room could do with additional lighting, the paint was peeling off the bathroom walls and the floors were dusty. What was good is the bed was large and comfy, food was delicious with generous portions and the staff were great. We didn’t see many animals while we were there as the property was a bit flooded as a result of the rainy season.

We moved to TZ 8 months ago and have been lucky enough to stay in some lovely places, but none have been as special as Africa Safari. We loved watching the zebra wandering around the camp, such an unexpected and wonderful surprise. The abundance of bird life around the camp and restaurant meant we didn’t go anywhere without our binoculars. We even had a hippo visit the camp one evening which we watched in wonder, with the camp ranger. A highlight of our visit was the wonderful staff, who were so genuinely helpful and the lovely food. We were very well looked after by Ronald who was an absolute superstar! We will certainly be returning to this very special place and highly recommend Africa Safari. It’s worth mentioning that April is Low Season, so the camp was very very quiet.
