As part of our Portugal hiking trip with Right Path Adventures, my husband and I stayed at Vila Foia for a night. Above the village of Monchique, it is tucked on a hillside, up a curving road, and an oasis - lovely, perfectly appointed rooms, beautiful grounds, and warm and helpful staff. Our group had a catered dinner arranged by the owner/host that was delicious. I would love to have stayed longer - there are lots of hikes amidst the forested hillsides, covered with cork trees.

What an amazing experience! High above Monchique the setting is serene and calming. Rooms are generous in size and very well appointed. Dining room is comfortable with a nice view. Breakfast amazing, same with dinner. Pool area is beautiful but because of weather not able to enjoy. Host was wonderful.

Just great. Highly recommend. We will certainly be returning. Staff were lovely. Views amazing position fantastic. The road up to the hotel is a bit narrow and steep but once you’ve done it once it’s no problem the whole area around the hotel and the village of Monchique itself is enchanting.

We were on a guided hiking tour of Portugal and one of the stops was Monchique. We stayed at the VillaFoia which is a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in the hills. The hospitality was outstanding, the rooms spotless, and the food delicious. Among the many amenities were a beautiful pool, hot tub, magnificent gardens and views. We highly recommend VillaFoia!

Fantastic! That’s all I can say about the staff, accommodations, location, food…it was all fantastic! We did a guided hike with Francisco which we thoroughly enjoyed. He taught us about the area and showed us the amazing Monchique Mountains then we had a great lunch in a local restaurant. The views from our room were amazing too! I would certainly stay here again.

Tivemos uma estadia incrível! A vista é deslumbrante e a localização perfeita para quem procura tranquilidade. Fomos recebidos com simpatia pelo staff, sempre disponível e atencioso. We loved the peaceful, quiet nature that surrounds VilaFoia and is embedded in the service. The staff were helpful and courteous and very accommodating! We enjoyed the massage, wellness and yoga class that was offered. A healing atmosphere for sure. The included breakfast was delicious in addition to being thoughtfully prepared and served. Although the weather was foggy and rainy most of the time - it was still a lovely retreat.
