Family of 4 have come during the October half term for a week. Weather has been hit and miss. Quite overcast at times, one insane storm but then some lovely hot sun. The hotel…. I think they’re selling themselves short giving it a 3* rating. Everywhere and everything is clean or being cleaned. The staff are attentive and want to help. None were dismissive or rude at any stage. There have been reviews mentioning not having money for the tourist tax….you have to do some adulting before you come and see what other countries require of you. Bring UK money which can be changed at the hotel to then pay the 2dn per person per night. If you don’t bring money to exchange, it’s a you problem! On your walk to the main restaurant there are a few shops selling bags, belts, wallets, T-shirts etc. it’s cash only and be prepared to barter. There’s lifts which hold about 5/6 people at a time. There is a bar in the main hotel which is where you get your bottles of water from. Just ask politely and the staff will hand over several at a time. The animation staff are fantastic. How they keep their energy and enthusiasm going for the hours they’re awake god only knows! They’ll put on games in the pool, make sure people are comfortable, chat with your kids and just make a real effort to make sure your holiday is good fun. The rooms…. It’s a base really isn’t it. If you want to spend your holiday in it then don’t bother coming away in my opinion. The rooms have plenty of space. We got adjoining rooms and shoved our 2 kids in that. Showers are decent and a small amount of shower gel is provided. Hand and shower towels provided. Mattresses are ok and beds made up every day. Tip your cleaner. They work hard and a few Dinar goes a long way. No hairdryer in the rooms, so you will have to bring one or get one on rent from the main reception (I’m unsure of cost). The food…. Everything is made fresh on the day you eat it. The main restaurant has more than enough to please even the fussiest of eaters ranging from pizzas to octopus salads. If you’re coming abroad to just eat pasta and chips then you’re missing out on some amazing food which is made up! You’ll be given a card when you arrive, on your first meal find a member of waiting staff and they’ll find you a table. This is your table for the entire stay. Hand over 20dn or more to your waiter and they’ll make sure your drinks and table is sorted for when you arrive. Again, they work non stop cleaning tables and taking dirty plates away. All the waiters are friendly and are genuinely interested in the UK and our culture. Have a chat, it’s free. There are 2 outside bars you can eat at. One on the beach and another at the top swimming pool closer to the aqua park. Both are snack bars and not full restaurants but serve enough to keep you going. The pools…. There are 2 large pools and one smaller one. The aqua park is good fun and has on or around 6 slides. There’s lifeguards at each pool and in the aqua park. There
