Absolutely a five star experience. The staff, property, food, and amenities were all exceptional. I highly recommend this incredible affordable, experience.

This is the premier riding experience in Ireland for the advanced rider who enjoys jumping and cross country riding. Great facility, instructors and dependable horses. They are booked out months in advance and reservations are a MUST. Two rides a day so be in good shape. Show up and be ready to ride. I lucked into a catch ride (thank you Orla) when someone had had enough for the day. I know now to book WAY in advance.

Hi all, On behalf of Angela and myself, I would like to extend our deepest thanks for the hospitality, friendliness and warmth of the all the Staff of the Castle Leslie Estate. We had a wonderful time during our recent stay and enjoyed every minute. As local historians the highlight was the tour of the castle and gardens. Enda, the tour guide in the Castle was excellent , so much so I purchased a copy of Shane Leslie's Memoir. To be fair, all the staff are very knowledgeable of the history of the family and estate, thanks to Emma and Matthew and the Alan (Gardner) for the extra information. The food is amazing and our compliments to all the Chefs. Thank you all again and hopefully we will return in the future.

From the moment we entered the gates of Castle Leslie Estate, we felt like we’d stepped into a storybook. Nestled in the rolling countryside of County Monaghan, this historic castle exudes charm, elegance, and old-world romance, perfect for our honeymoon. My husband and I stayed in the Mauve suite in the Castle, the room was filled with character—antiques, rich fabrics, and stunning views over the lake and grounds. The staff made us feel like royalty from check-in to check-out—friendly, attentive, and always ready with a warm smile, both in the Castle and The Lodge. Every member of staff we interacted with took an interest in us as people rather than just another guest and this shows in the level of care you receive when there. The grounds are breathtaking, with woodland walks, serene lakes, and perfectly manicured gardens, we walked for hours and enjoyed every second. Followed up with a relaxing hour in the hot tub and sauna, where once again the staff were so helpful. Dinner at Snaffles Restaurant was exquisite—locally sourced ingredients, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our tasting menu was just exceptional, picture perfect as well as food that melted in your mouth, so delicately pieced together- words actually can’t describe how perfect the meal was. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive, with a wide range of fresh and hearty options. We love the fact the food is all locally sourced. Whether you’re here for a romantic escape, a celebration, or just a relaxing getaway, Castle Leslie offers a truly unique experience. Peaceful, elegant, and full of history—it’s a place you’ll never forget. It has set the bar so high for us, we will struggle to find somewhere as good to spend quality time together. A Perfect Honeymoon Dinner – Unforgettable Experience! My wife and I dined at Snaffles Restaurant during our honeymoon in July 2025, and it was easily the most memorable meal of our entire trip to Castle Leslie Monaghan. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly special and welcomed — they even surprised us with a celebratory treat once they learned it was our honeymoon! Lovely crisp Prosecco served perfectly chilled, delicious. The ambiance was romantic and intimate, with a beautiful setting that made the evening feel magical. Every dish of our tasting menu was thoughtfully and expertly prepared and absolutely delicious — we especially loved the lamb tartlet, and Cod dish! The wine pairing was spot-on and added an extra layer of indulgence to the whole experience. Thanks to our lovely waitress Bryden. What really stood out was the attention to detail and genuineness to the way we were treated, the hospitality was stellar. The team went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. We left with full hearts, full stomachs, and the feeling that we’d just experienced something truly special. Probably the best meal we’ve ever had anywhere. The chefs are in our opinion Michelin star level. We highly recommended for anyone looking for a romantic night out or celebrating a meaningful occasion. We can’t wait to return someday very soon! We spent one night celebrating an 80th birthday. We had bed & breakfast and dinner in the snaffles restaurant. Dinner was very good, you do need a good appetite! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and went for a walk around the grounds, enjoying the biodiversity.
