This place is very nicely located, right on the river. The cabin wears comfortable and well appointed. But the place should not be charging the high price they’re charging when the main building is closed for renovations. Also $20 additional to park a car is absurd

This is a tough one to rate. The positives: the location is jaw-droppingly beautiful, the cabin was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, it was a joy to be able to wade right into the Colorado River, and the staff was terrific. The negatives: we got no warning that the restaurant was under construction, the substitute restaurant is just OK and understaffed, and the $20 parking charge is OUTRAGEOUS, especially with the high room prices. I feel that this place may be amazing once the renovations are done, but right now, this place is merely good.

If its not broke, don't fix it. Simple enough concept. Marriott recently bought this property and utterly destroyed this charming rustic property in one clean swoop. Where to start? The rooms used to be literally mini western cabins. Knotted pine bedframe, old west photos and decor, Beds that faced the river, rustic charm everywhere. Now it looks like every other Marriott or Hilton property, the IKEA simplistic look. We could be in any Courtyard by Marriott property in the Big City, except for the amazing views. The Lodge with the Restaurant and Bar and Museum, all being renovated to the same type of wanna be corporate version of what the west should look like?? Why?? The Lodge was unbelievable already. Why fix what didn't need fixen? Then you got the 20 dollar fee to park in the dirt lot? Huh? Another Marriott add on..no screen door on the patio to prevent the millions of bugs coming into the room why you try to listen to the river. Why have river front rooms if you cant even enjoy it, its why your paying 350 a night. Jill the Manager is the one saving grace for this place. She has gone above and beyond to try to make our stay enjoyable. Huge shout out to her, she is terrific!!! Really Sad to see this happening to a place that holds so many awesome memories. I hope whoever signed off on this at corporate is Happy. Cause your returning guests aren't but who cares about the guests when you can monetize and destroy a property that was Legendary.

Buyer Beware!!! The entire main lodge is under construction, so the 'restaurant' was moved to an small side building. Tiny place for a 'restaurant', limited menu, not what we paid for. The rooms are nice, but the 'kitchen' in the rooms is also a 'buyer beware'...no forks/knives/spoons, no plates, no nothing except 6 oz plastic cups and 8 oz paper cups. How can you use a kitchen or microwave without anything to put the food on? Wouldn't be so bad if we were near the town, but Moab is 30 minutes away. It is very disappointing that there is no mention of any of this on their website. We only found out when we arrived.

The views were fantastic, but the service, food, and usability were not great. Being in the canyon by the colorado river had some really great views, and it wasn’t too far from Moab, ~20min drive. The renovations put the dining area a walk from the suites in an odd building that had offices in it as well. The atmosphere was bad and the service wasn’t great, but the food did exceed our expectations (though they were very low). Also note they didn’t have alcohol (no beer). The newly renovated rooms were great but we ran into an issue were our first room smelled like a gas leak. They sent over maintenance right away, and he agreed there was an issue with the water heater. They quickly gave us another room, but it was a pain to move as these are motel style and we had to pack up the car again and drive it over. No help was offered or any sort of discount. They also say they have reverse osmosis water in the rooms, and I did see a third line going into the sinks; but my wife and I both thought the water tasted bad, even a little salty. Once the renovations in dinning area are done, and the service gets a bit better this could be a really cool place worth $300 a night. But right now >$300 a night is far more then it is worth.

The Lodge was amazing! Fantastic views, top notch service, gorgeous and spacious cabin - couldn’t have asked for more! Our trip was 100% fly by the seat of our pants and decided to splurge for our stay in Moab. I’m so glad we did!

We stayed for three nights as part of a Southwest National Park tour. The lodge, situated roughly 15 miles outside of Moab, has a gorgeous setting among the deservedly renown red rocks. We enjoyed a wonderful sunrise over the hills and the Colorado River, which skirts its parameter. We stayed in a queen room (two queen-sized beds), which was well-appointed and spacious. Conveniently, the sink is separate from the bathing area (shower and toilet). Surprisingly, there is just one tiny towel rack by the sink (for hand towels that is apparently supposed to accommodate them all). When you shower, the only place for your bath towels (unless you care to place them on the floor) is on top of the toilet. To dry, we threw them over the glass shower doors and used hangers in the closet. There is no hook on the door for bathrobes either. While clean lines and elegant design may be visually pleasing, practicality should trump such considerations in a bathroom. We had a weird incident with the bathroom plastic cups. While wrapped in sanitary plastic, they were soapy and wet inside, as though they’d been washed and resealed for subsequent use. We opted to use the paper cups in the kitchenette instead. On the plus side, the lodge offered filtered water to compensate for its hard water. The lodge is busiest on the weekends. We heard nothing on Thursday night. Before 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday, we heard the hairdryer in the next room and a couple audibly discussing their impending 7 a.m. departure.
