The hotel had great service, including hotel information at the front desk! The breakfast area overlooks the city of Porto and has a great view. This is not limited to this hotel in Portugal, but there are no slippers or toothbrushes in the room, so you need to bring your own. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay in an upgraded room.

My husband and I stayed at Torel Avant-garde for our anniversary and it was absolutely lovely.. location is great, rooms were spacious. The staff were all incredibly helpful and booked us various restaurants and have great advice. I would not hesitate in recommending the hotel and would definately stay here again. 😊

The location is a bit removed from the most hectic part of downtown Porto, but close enough to walk to most of the sights and plenty of good restaurants. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, made excellent restaurant recommendations and facilitated reservations, we even were able to obtain our Hop On/Hop Off bus tickets at the front desk. The view from the restaurant and patio deck is unbeatable - we spent most of our time onsite out there enjoying the panoramic perspective. The breakfast (included) was stellar - the best we experienced during our extended vacation in Portugal. Our room was small, but had everything we needed and was very clean with a luxuriously comfortable bed and bedding. We would definitely return in the future.

Loved the stylish aesthetic of the public spaces, and found the staff helpful, courteous and professional. The rooms however, were too dark for my taste - both in terms of adequate lighting and color on the walls, and dinner at the restaurant was disappointing. Breakfasts were delicious though. All in all, if you don't mind a bit of an uphill walk from the main tourist center, then Torel Avantgarde is a solid option. And the views are outstanding!

Fabulous boutique hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Everything was perfect. Breakfast says continental but it’s that and much much more, including chef making breakfast to your liking. Absolutely fantastic breakfast. Hotel is 5 mins walk from town and close to the river.
