Hyatt Regency Minneapolis

Very basic hotel no frills at all. The location is OK but not much in the area to walk to when the temperatures are below freezing.

Very comfortable room and bed Nice hotel including lobby and grounds Service was very good. Restaurants first and second floor were very good Good location and easy access and parking

Nice stay. Very adequate to our needs while staying here. Nice location to downtown restaurants and pubs, too. Easy walk to Target.

Stayed in Minneapolis this past Saturday evening, and selected Hyatt....as that has typically been my first choice for 25 years. Thats changing....rapidly. This hotel is one of several reasons why. First of all, what should i expect from a Hyatt REGENCY? The Hyatt Place downtown was more expensive, but I typically prefer the larger Regencies. They are typically a bit nicer, and full service. Not the case here. The hotel is dated, dated, dated. Hallways are the first sign that things are worn out. Torn wallpaper the minute you exit the elevator, and continued distress on the walls as you walk to your room. The room? Tired. The first thing that caught my eye was the collection of extension cords proturding from under the furniture. Great design touch! Looks and looked for a USB port in the room. Nothing. Finally found one behind the clock on the nightstand, but it didn't work. Also, the wiring was so tight....that if you moved the clock to try to access the port, you pulled the electric connection out. Nice. The pork anyway. Room was MODERATELY clean. Dark carpets sure show the dirt from the previous guest(s). My 'suite' feels more than 10 years old, and in need of a renovation. Actually, the whole hotel feels that way. Is this a licensed hotel? Is this hotel meeting Hyatt standards? Hmm.... doesn't feel like that. I could see this rebranded Millennium and day now. (Oh wait, they're already across the street). Restaurant service was awful. Food mediocre. Iron in the room
