The Marquette Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Marquette is my fave hotel in Minni. It’s charming and the hospitality is amazing- staff are friendly and make the stay very comfortable. Rooms are spotless! Marquette salad is delicious!

The service and care that Victoria gave us were outstanding, and that is why we will continue to come back here every time we are in town.

We stayed at the Marquette from August 29th, 2025 for 3 nights. The Marquette is located right in the heart of the business district, walkable to most places you would want to go downtown, and nearby the Metro Blue and Green Line. In fact, we took the Metro from the airport to the hotel and had no issues. Overall, the stay was nice; however, with a few "room for improvement" issues, that really should not have occurred at all. First of all, we did get to try out the Joliet House Restaurant for Sunday brunch (after 11am), and also the Marquette Lounge (The Lobby Bar). The Joliet House was wonderful. I had the cheese curds and the French Onion Soup. The Lobby Bar we utilized two evenings for drinks. Overall, it was excellent service, particularly considering that they were bombarded with special events/weddings that weekend and it made the bar very busy at times. The elevators were quick and efficient, and the lobby is pleasantly decorated. We stayed in Room 1353, a standard king room (which they call Deluxe King). Overall, it was very spacious, well equipped. It was in good condition and the bed is very comfortable. There is a nice sitting couch, a desk, a large television, appropriate outlets and plugs, a coffee/tea maker, refrigerator and a nice bathroom. They definitely could invest a bit more into the bathroom, as that toilet is a total water water, taking a full 17 seconds to flush. In addition, the shower water pressure should be a little bit greater. However, overall, a pretty decent room. I had two complaints during this stay. #1 - Not a huge deal; however, how could they overlook? A luggage rack??? Why would you not put a luggage rack in the room? I thought for sure I missed it at first, but I looked and looked (even behind the ironing board) and it was not in the room. This is something that they should have. Instead of having a luggage rack, this caused us to have to put our large suitcase up on the desk. Although we were very careful, if people keep doing this (which I am sure they are), that will quickly damage the desk. Such a small investment. #2 - Check-In. At check-in time, I was upset the way the "upgrade" system was handled. As a Diamond member, upgrades are never guaranteed; however, a simple "NO" would have been helpful. No upgrade was offered; therefore, I did ask if one was available. Instead of a "NO", the following explanation was offered: "Well, it's really not that busy, and technically we have a ton of upgraded rooms available; however, we are only allotted a certain number, so I'm sorry I can't offer any of those to you". What??!!! Could you not have just told me no? He said they had suites, corner kings, and more. Honestly, that is not the proper way to conduct yourself at check-in.

This is a modern hotel in the center. Public areas and rooms are immaculately clean. Rooms are large with plenty of space to store luggage. Beds are very comfortable. Gym is sizable and machines are new. Front desk (and everyone else) is helpful. We really liked our stay here. The only fly in the ointment is the parking cost - $65 daily valet!!!!. However, there are plenty of garages nearby charging $15-20 and paid street parking is all around.

The stay was okay but the room was not at all what we booked and instead of explaining that they moved us when we checked in. Nothing was said. I’m sure if I had not called down to the front desk after arriving in the room and noticing myself hey wait this is not what we booked. Very spendy for a weekday.

In town for a conference, never had been to a Graduate hotel nor Minneapolis…I’ll be back for a weekend getaway! Outstanding service from front desk to housekeeping. The decor was outstanding, the theme was spot on. Rooms are very well appointed with the U of Minnesota at the forefront BUT the homage to Prince made the trip so so so worthwhile, from the room key with him on it to the Lil Red Corvette lamp in my room. Be sure to check out the Golf simulator in the lobby!
