We almost didn't stay here because of the recent bad reviews. But we needed to stay in Mineral Wells for a funeral and most motels had jacked up their rates for Memorial weekend more than we wanted to pay. So we decided to take a chance since it was only one night. We're glad we did. If you're the type that is bothered by aesthetic things like chipped furniture, a sagging hide-a-bed couch or patched walls, don't stay here. If you're used to staying in budget motels like we are, those things don't matter. It had what matters to us--a safe location, clean room and bath and a comfortable bed. It was a Comfort Suites in a former incarnation and some of those amenities are still there, like an elevator, larger room with more soundproofing, closet, and even a luggage cart. The refrigerator was appreciated since we are used to eating cereal in our room at Motel 6's. It's amazing to me how many people stay at a known budget motel and give it a bad review because it doesn't have all the amenities that they expect at a higher tier motel. If you want those things, stay elsewhere and pay for them. We actually got more than we expected at a Motel 6. It's one of the nicest we've stayed at in over 40 years of budget vacations going back to when they were bare-bones. We enjoyed our stay.

Yes, this was the worst bed we have ever slept in. However the room was very clean, hotel is clean, fellow at the front desk was very friendly, however the bed was awful . It was a king bed & must have came over on the Mayflower. When we got in to it we both sunk it to big indentions in the matress & there was a huge hump in the middle. This bed is totally warn out & should have been replaced a long time ago. Courtesy breakfast was OK, eggs were rather flat like powdered eggs. Would we return probably not unless they replace the beds.
