Cabin very run down, toilet didn't work ; had to add water. Queen size bed on a double boxspring very uncomfortable. Pots didn't have lids, had to use a frying pan as a lid. Fire escape plan not for our cabin, had a beautiful view, but the deck couldn't even sit 2 people.

I wish I could say we had the same wonderful experience at Twin Lakes as we have had in the past 2 years but unfortunately not this year. The resort is under new ownership and I think there is much to be learned by him on running a resort. It appeared he had not hired any maintenance staff as the grass/weeds were about a foot high. The picnic tables at some cabins weren’t useable because of the long grass. The large cottages/homes on the other side of the road had weeds that were 2-3 feet high. The tiny beach area they have was full of dried up weeds and debris that had washed up on shore and appeared to have been there a while. Fortunately, another guest who was only there for a few days was kind enough to rake and clean it up so his toddler could play in the sand. The main deck’s umbrellas were missing (stored) and the lovely deck chairs they use to have were now up by the pump house under a tree that were in terrible condition, dirty, worn and full of bird excrement. The cabin we were in this year was a good size with stove and full size fridge which was nice and clean with new windows/patio doors and in a great location with an awesome view. The A/C worked really well. The baseboards and walls need repair and paint though and there is an area behind the toilet where the baseboard is totally missing and insulation is showing that looks yucky and there was a weird odour in the bathroom that I believe was coming from that area. We had tiny ants in the cabin which was a first but thankfully Craig, the property manager kindly brought us some ant traps which worked. We had a few spiders as well. The mosquitoes this year were horrendous which is expected I guess in cottage country but the long grass and weeds and flooding didn’t help. The barbecues all need replacing, they are all rusted out in every cabin. The toaster didn’t work but we were kindly given a replacement by Craig who was very helpful and also found us a better barbecue and assisted us with other things as well. Many of the cabin shorelines were flooded because the lake is so high (not the resorts fault of course). Fortunately our cabin was on a bit of a hill so it was ok. Our first few days were plagued with plumbing issues, water pressure was low and at times we had no water. Sometimes we had to fill the back of the toilet with water manually, and on one morning we had to use bottled water. There was another time I was in the shower all lathered up and the water stopped completely. We actually called the owner to complain and told him we were fed up and leaving and wanted a refund but he said he’d arranged for a plumbing service to come so we decided to stay as we love it here so much. The plumbers came and had to replace all the filters in the main pump house that were full of gunk that had blocked the whole water system at the resort. To be fair to the resort, the plumbing issues arose as a result of the town fully opening the dam between 12 Mile Lake and Mountain Lake (wh

So another enjoyable vacation at lovely Twin Lakes Resort on beautiful Mountain Lake has regrettably come to an end. Our kitty sure loved it here too. This was our second visit to the resort as we stayed here in July 2022 as well. This is the perfect location for us with it being just a couple hours drive from home and it’s such a pretty clean lake and no fishy smell. There are many lakes to see in the area as you drive around and some excellent restaurants just a short drive away. There are some cute tourist towns to visit too within an hours drive. We want to give credit to the wonderful people who make this resort so special, Luigi Centurami, his daughter Julia, her son Jayden as well as Janice, Max & James who all contributed to making our stay enjoyable, comfortable and who were all ever so helpful and attentive with any questions or needs. They truly go above and beyond to please their guests. Highly recommend a stay here for long or short term. We prefer long term! Already looking forward to our return next summer.

We have enjoyed our stay at Twin Lakes very much. Such a beautiful location and lovely lake. Most of the cabins are situated right on the lake front, and are very comfortable with a good sized deck and awesome view. Is was nice having a window air conditioner in the cabin if needed, a rare find in cottage/cabin resorts and rentals. Most days we had a lovely breeze off the lake. We loved sitting on our own cabin deck where we got the early morning/afternoon sun so you could sunbathe right there and we enjoyed watching the ducks, loons and birds flying around. One day down by the main dock we even saw a cute little otter and on one rainy day saw a mother loon with several babies right in front of our cabin, a heartwarming site. The windows and patio doors all have screens so you can shut off the a/c open the windows and get lovely fresh air in at night which was a plus for us. We were in a small cabin for basically 2 people and found it more than adequate to our needs. We were provided with a portable two burner hot plate and a barbecue just outside our patio door, a microwave, a kettle, toaster, drip coffee maker, mini refrigerator, and enough dishes, cutlery, pots/pans for 2 people as well as dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap/sanitizer and disinfectant spray and a couple garbage bags. If you run out of certain items you will need to replenish yourself. Bring your own shampoo, face soap, toothpaste and as clearly mentioned on their web page you need to bring your own bed linen, pillows, bath/beach towels/hand/wash cloths and tea towels as well. Each cabin has their own picnic table for use outside your cabin and a fire pit to use at night. Bring mosquito repellent if you like sitting outside after dark! Bring a blow dryer and folding deck chairs/lounge as there are none provided in the cabin. We were also advised to bring our own drinking water which we did. Also for longer stays like ours, bring a good cooler. Glad we did and found it helpful as it’s was surprising how fast we filled up our mini fridge after grocery shopping. This resort accept pets too in certain allocated cabins at an extra fee. We may take advantage this option on our next visit. There are no laundry facilities on site but there is a laundromat right beside Kawartha Dairy on Hwy 35. So you can do you laundry and enjoy an ice cream at the same time. You need to bring your own coins apparently. The only thing I would have liked in the cabin was an iron/ironing board. We were kindly provided with a little vacuum upon request as I hated bringing in tree droppings and sand/dirt off our shoes. There is a lovely main dock with very comfy Adirondack style chairs for guest use and picnic tables with umbrellas. The lake is clean and refreshing with a small beach for the kiddies. You can swim right off the dock too, but no diving. There is a boat launch as well if you have a boat. You can hear the swishing of traffic when sitting outside as the resort is re
