We have enjoyed our stay at Twin Lakes very much. Such a beautiful location and lovely lake. Most of the cabins are situated right on the lake front, and are very comfortable with a good sized deck and awesome view. Is was nice having a window air conditioner in the cabin if needed, a rare find in cottage/cabin resorts and rentals. Most days we had a lovely breeze off the lake. We loved sitting on our own cabin deck where we got the early morning/afternoon sun so you could sunbathe right there and we enjoyed watching the ducks, loons and birds flying around. One day down by the main dock we even saw a cute little otter and on one rainy day saw a mother loon with several babies right in front of our cabin, a heartwarming site. The windows and patio doors all have screens so you can shut off the a/c open the windows and get lovely fresh air in at night which was a plus for us. We were in a small cabin for basically 2 people and found it more than adequate to our needs. We were provided with a portable two burner hot plate and a barbecue just outside our patio door, a microwave, a kettle, toaster, drip coffee maker, mini refrigerator, and enough dishes, cutlery, pots/pans for 2 people as well as dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap/sanitizer and disinfectant spray and a couple garbage bags. If you run out of certain items you will need to replenish yourself. Bring your own shampoo, face soap, toothpaste and as clearly mentioned on their web page you need to bring your own bed linen, pillows, bath/beach towels/hand/wash cloths and tea towels as well. Each cabin has their own picnic table for use outside your cabin and a fire pit to use at night. Bring mosquito repellent if you like sitting outside after dark! Bring a blow dryer and folding deck chairs/lounge as there are none provided in the cabin. We were also advised to bring our own drinking water which we did. Also for longer stays like ours, bring a good cooler. Glad we did and found it helpful as it’s was surprising how fast we filled up our mini fridge after grocery shopping. This resort accept pets too in certain allocated cabins at an extra fee. We may take advantage this option on our next visit. There are no laundry facilities on site but there is a laundromat right beside Kawartha Dairy on Hwy 35. So you can do you laundry and enjoy an ice cream at the same time. You need to bring your own coins apparently. The only thing I would have liked in the cabin was an iron/ironing board. We were kindly provided with a little vacuum upon request as I hated bringing in tree droppings and sand/dirt off our shoes. There is a lovely main dock with very comfy Adirondack style chairs for guest use and picnic tables with umbrellas. The lake is clean and refreshing with a small beach for the kiddies. You can swim right off the dock too, but no diving. There is a boat launch as well if you have a boat. You can hear the swishing of traffic when sitting outside as the resort is re
