Romantic Hotels in Minamitsuru District

Our stay at Vision Glamping Resort Lake Yamanaka was the highlight of our honeymoon. With Mount Fuji as our backdrop, surrounded by tranquil greenery, the setting was pure magic. Our private accommodation, featuring a domed room, kitchen, toilet, shower toilet, sauna, and spa, offered unparalleled luxury. The resort's attention to detail was exceptional, providing us with dinner and breakfast, as well as toiletries. But what truly amazed us were the additional touches: hair straighteners, curling irons, skincare products, and face masks. It was a luxurious indulgence in the midst of stunning natural beauty. Overall, our experience was nothing short of perfect. Sleeping in front of Mount Fuji was an unforgettable experience, and the resort's ambiance made us feel completely at ease. We can't wait to return for another stay!

I stayed at the Kogetsu for 2 nights in May and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. I booked rather late and was not able to book the same room, so the first night I stayed in a Standard Western Style twin w open-air bath; and the second night in a Standard Japanese Modern w open-air bath (Triple). Both were on the 3rd (of 5) floors and both had stunning views of Mt Fuji. Both incorporated both Japanese and Western style. The first room had wood floors throughout and half-shoji screen doors so you could separate the bedroom and dining areas. It also had a small walk-in closet. The outdoor onsen was quite large (could easily fit 4 adults) and the patio was wider than in the Triple room. I posted pics of the Standard Western Style Twin and will post the pics of the Triple separately. In contrast the Triple room was larger and there was a gorgeous daybed (which becomes the 3rd bed) with windows on either side overlooking Mt Fuji. The onsen was a bit smaller (could easily fit 2 adults). The bedroom was carpeted, dining area had tatami-style mats, and hallway had wood floors. There was a wardrobe rather than walk-in closet in this room. Both rooms had a wet area for washing up before the onsen, a separate powder room, and separate toilet room. Honestly, you can’t go wrong - both rooms were gorgeous. I felt lucky to be here. One thing to note is that there is a boat launch beside the ryokan, so my open-air onsen on 3rd floor was not super private (there’s a screen to pull down if you want privacy, but it obscures the view). The 4th/5th floors would have more feeling of privacy. The kaiseki meals were beautifully displayed and delicious. The 2 nights’ menus were different but followed a similar (but not identical) format: 1) Aperitif, 2) Seasonal appetizers, 3) Soup, 4) Sashimi, 5) Main course (hot), 6) Steamed fish, 7) Grilled fish, 8) Palette cleanser, 9) simmered dish, 10) rice dish, and 11) dessert. My nakai, Fumiko-san, was lovely - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was also included - it was half- buffet, with an elegant bento box with appetizers and tamago. It also included delicious tempura, made to order and delivered to your table. The hotel has a happy hour from 2:30-6:30 where a limited selection of tea, coffee, nonalcoholic drinks, beer and wine are free. You can enjoy them on the gorgeous terrace overlooking Mt Fuji with your feet soaking in the footpath (just not in your room). Lastly there are shuttles every morning to Kawaguchiko Station or any of the tourist sights on the way, and the hotel will send a shuttle to pick you up when you are ready to come back. The location of this ryokan could not be better - close to some great museums and on the North shore of the lake, which has the best views (and away from the touristy South shore).

We are glad to have stayed in Fuji Matsuzono Hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable for a family of 3 and there was a small table with 2 chairs that allowed us to sit around to have some late night snacks and drinks. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. When I approached them at 1am for an additional pillow, they immediately attended to the request. The bath area for the onsen was clean and spacious. The amenities provided were also good quality. There is also a great selection of food during breakfast. Most importantly, room was facing Mt Fuji and we managed to get a nice morning view of Mt Fuji when we woke up. The view was spectaculars and there is a nice courtyard that one can take nice photos with Mt fuji in the background. The hotel is also located in a very convenience location. Once you exit the hotel, you will see Lake Yamanakako and there were many eateries nearby, all within walking distance. As we drove, it was also convenience that Lawson and 7-11 is less than 5 min drive away. Will definitely visit again.

The hotel is nestled in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area. We stayed 3 nights in a room facing the lake with a magnificent view of Fuji-san. A van provides shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station. The restaurant is not operational hence we either ate outside or bought food back from Lawson/7-11. Hotel staff were friendly and attentive, and there were Mandarin-speaking staff. We miss it very much even though we are now in Hoshino Amoriya, which speaks a lot about the Kumonoue Fuji!

Really clean room, as with all hotels in Japan, and the room was so white, aesthetically pleasing. Dedicated room for washing with detergents provided, vending machines and even bikes here for you to rent and use during your stay here. Beautiful view of Mt Fuji once you get up on a clear day, what’s not to love it here?

We are on a guided tour and were fortunate to stay at Regina. It was good in every way - great rooms, excellent checkin, hot shower and comfortable bed. WE had a traditional Japanese dinner and it was probably the most complete (and very tasty) meals we have had so far. Also the breakfast was handled smoothly and the food was hot and tasty. Be aware that this hotel is a short way out of town, but has great views of Mt Fuji.

I am really struggling with this review but decided to give a 2 star review as I took Price into consideration for this. The ryokan is highly rated on here which might be down to different experiences or different expectations. So let me get into why I was not impressed: I know Japan very well, come here multiple times a year for work and some extra time and even lived here a few years ago. I have stayed in multiple Ryokans with lovely Onsens all over the country and usually prefer the more traditional buildings and atmospheres. In the mouth Fuji Region this seemed to be one of very few that meets that criteria. However during our stay, I found that none of the usual Japanese „omotenashi“ really apply here. This ryokan had zero Japanese guests and catered exclusively to foreign tourists. The rooms are nice but certainly not great- especially considering the price. No public onsen just a shallow marble tub outside each room which heavily lacks atmosphere or Beauty. The hotel misses elements of nature and relaxation throughout- which usually is staple of a nice traditional ryokan. Then the staff- the non-Japanese staff actually tries very hard but they are clearly not aware of some of the customs at traditional places. The Japanese stuff might have been the coldest staff I have ever experienced in Japan. As I speak Japanese, I usually manage to get into a nice conversation with staff at such ryokans - at this one, that was not at all possible. They wouldn’t even speak Japanese with me. The breakfast service was fine but felt really rushed and service was cold. Dinner was an absolute nightmare - no accommodation was made for a serious allergy. Actually there was no concern whatsoever- we even identified the ingredient in a dish that the waiter said was ok… and when we pointed it out he just said „please don’t eat then“. Usually staff in Japan bends over backwards to make sure all is fine with your meal. Also- the 24,000 yen/person kaiserlich dinner was served at such a speed that we had at times three courses in front of us. Flexibility is definitely also not a word in their vocabulary - no changes can be made to anything - but that would be ok if the staff was just overall trying a bit harder. Food quality was good but again not better than at similar places for half the price. Overall the ryokan lacks a loving touch and I can only assume that it is badly managed as the staff is clearly unmotivated. You can definitely do much better in Japan and a big lesson for me is to always look out for reviews from locals as they know best what the standard for such a place should be. As someone who loves japan and has close ties to the country through work and friends, I am always happy to see positive reviews about the Japanese hospitality and service - however o encourage everyone who rated their stay highly here to try some other great ryokans in Japan to find out for yourselves how much better it can get.

They offer a shuttle bus service between the hotel and the station, which is very helpful. There's also plenty of parking available for those traveling by car. Service: 9/10 The service at 大池酒店 was exceptional. The staff were friendly and always greeted us with smiles, making us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Environment: 10/10 The ambiance of the hotel is tranquil, with a strong traditional Japanese style. The peaceful surroundings contributed to a relaxing experience, perfect for unwinding. View: 10/10 The views of Mount Fuji are simply spectacular. Waking up to that breathtaking sight is something I'll never forget. Room: 8/10 Our room was decent in size and comfortably accommodated our needs. It was beautifully decorated in traditional Japanese style, adding to the overall experience. Food: 9/10 Both dinner and breakfast were served with great care, and the flavors were excellent. The meals truly showcased the local cuisine. Overall, I highly recommend 富士之宿温泉旅館 大池酒店 for anyone looking for a serene getaway with stunning views, great service, and delicious food. Konansou was one of our highlights on our recent trip to Japan. My husband and I, along w our couple friends, stayed for two nights. The staff was so warm and friendly, especially Shirai at the front desk. She was incredibly patient and helpful as we figured out our bus/train tickets. They have a shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station, which made getting around in the rain and with bags really easy. (Tip: there is a pay phone at the station if you need to call them when you get in— there are instructions and the numbers of local hotels posted) The food was amazing! Ikeda was our server for our in room dinners, and he was kind and knowledgeable in all the different dishes and how to eat them. I was blown away by the attention to detail and variety of food. It was beautiful. It was our anniversary and we received a special gift— thank you!! Breakfast was a buffet and had a huge selection! It can get busy but there is a lot of seating. Our room was huge and had a beautiful view of the lake and its own private onsen. We enjoyed the quiet and location, which was easy to walk to. The public onsen had so many amenities and was spacious too— not sure if I was lucky, but I was the only one there! We also got to do karaoke, play table tennis, and did our laundry. There was also a rooftop foot spa, where got views of Mt Fuji! Everything you need is here!

Only managed to book 1 out of 2 nights of our stay in the Superior Room and had to book the 2nd night via Japanican (standard room). Both rooms were amazing in terms of size. Superior room’s amenities and furnishings, bathtub etc are more luxurious in comparison but Standard Room is really good enough when you enter to a full view of Mt Fuji at the windows. My view fm the Standard Room was much better compared to the Superior though. Only con at the Standard Room is probably the inability to go out to a balcony to take photos and had to deal with reflections. Hospitality at the front desk was largely good, except a harsh-sounding man whom attended to our bus pickup call request and another night-duty man who can’t speak English and only repeatedly uttered “sorry” and “nonono” when I called to ask for a pillow they missed out. Special mention and thanks to 2 ladies whom attended to us: 1. “AHN” or “ANH” who helped us with check-in to the room, and continued to serve us with helpful suggestions and the sincerest greetings whenever we bump into her in the ryokan. 2. We didn’t get her name. The lady who served us for dinners (16 & 17 Dec) and breakfast (17 Dec) at Room 桃の二. Really patient and tried her best to communicate with us in English for all our requests and questions about the food. For non-adventurous-foodies like us, the provided breakfasts and dinners are a great experience and an eye-opener, but also wasteful on the other hand as we ended up with much things we don’t eat (even after I’ve put in a string of dietary requests prior to check-in). Perhaps having a room-only option for booking would be good.
