The Westin Milwaukee

Good location for business trip 1-2 days and easy to take taxi.

This hotel is in a great location. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is quiet. The service was very mediocre while we were here, but it was a very crowded weekend with summer fest going on. It’s a really easy walk to the fairgrounds, so the hotel was very full.  They did service a room every day, but never left extra toilet paper or amenities so I had to go ask for toilet paper every day of my stay. The Front Desk staff seem overwhelmed as well as the valet. Luckily, we checked in at a quiet time, and Madison was very helpful in finding us a quiet room . The rest of the weekend things were just chaos. I understand things get busy in a hotel when it is full, but certainly they are able to plan for something that occurs every year near the hotel . For the price, I think the service should be much better.

Disappointing. That’s the best word to describe our time at the Westin. We were here for 3 nights and not once was our room turned (even after checking the box to have daily room service). The room was nice, and the AC worked great, but it was the staff experience that lacked. On our third night and no new towels and out of tp I called the front desk only to be given a dismissive excuse of the hotel is really busy this weekend. The topper was the morning coffee service that had been empty two days in a row at 10am. I asked the hostess and she curtly told me they had no more coffee, despite the (empty) restaurant serving brunch until 2pm. Just not the service one would expect at a Westin, least of all when you’re paying their hefty weekend surge rates.

I just had a great stay at The Westin Milwaukee. My check-in experience was a breeze (my daughter had made the reservation for me). I had schlepped a lot of stuff for family, and would have had a little trouble getting everything upstairs without making two trips. One of the front desk clerks cheerfully volunteered to help me with my stuff, yea! I was also offered a bottle of water, and there was one in the fridge in the room. Another bonus was that my daughter’s family and I were given close rooms, so it was easy for us to visit, and have our “girl’s spa night!” My room was well appointed, and the bed was perfect. It was soft enough, but not too soft. That, combined with high quality, soft linens & comforter made for a very restful sleep. The bathroom was sleek and modern, not overly large, which I actually prefer. An additional plus was the rain shower. The coffee maker in the room had ample coffee, both caffeinated & de-caffeinated. It was Starbucks, and was actually quite good. The in room safe & fridge were nice to have available. I was also able to access free WiFi. The hotel was occupied by many folks who had come for the Brew City Marathon, but was very quiet. The hotel location is great, close to the lakefront for the many activities there. I would definitely choose this hotel again for a very pleasant Milwaukee stay.
