Cambria Hotel Milwaukee Downtown

Nice, clean hotel, great location, super friendly staff.

The hotel provided a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the serene environment made for a restful stay.

Not worth my time to give an extensive review, I'm just piling on since I ended up at this hotel through Federal travel and I didn't get to read reviews for this hotel since I booked through government travel system. Hotel is supposed to follow specific rules to be part of Federal travel, but what is the repercussion if they don't follow those rules? They eventually get pulled from Federal travel listings. My office won't be using this hotel any longer, but it will take longer for the hotel to be removed from the whole system. They charged for an extra night when our work travels finished early....they aren't supposed to do that as part of our system. Calls to hotel manager Ms. Angie White do not get returned. Federal tax exemption status not honored (Wisconsin Department of Revenue has been contacted about that). Business travelers should avoid this place. Federal government credit card has been contacted and dispute initiated. Enough said.

My personal experience staying at the Cambria Hotel Milwaukee Downton was excellent! The staff at the front desk was very nice, helpful and professional. The room was very clean and the breakfast I had several days at the restaurant was very good. I would definitely stay there again.

Our recent stay at the Cambria Milwaukee was a major letdown. Within hours of checking in, our vehicle — along with six others — was broken into in the hotel’s paid parking lot, which is advertised as secure and patrolled. Despite this, all we received was a refund of the $30 parking fee. When we asked to speak with the general manager, we were told he was unavailable and wouldn’t be coming in at all during the weekend. There was no backup plan, no support, and no one else authorized to offer real assistance. We followed up with guest relations after checkout and were informed again that nothing could be addressed without the GM — and there was no timeline for when we could expect to hear from him. On top of the lack of security and customer service, the room itself was disappointing. We booked a 2-queen room, and both mattresses had large, questionable stains — clearly the result of some kind of liquid spill. It was unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. We paid over $550 for two nights and left feeling frustrated, unheard, and completely dissatisfied. Between the lack of accountability, the poor room condition, and the absence of any meaningful support, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room 101 We have never stayed in a Cambria hotel of the Comfort Inn franchise. Thought we would try it per a friends recommendation . We arrived Friday evening 4pm and I understand that's a very busy time but we waited 30 minutes to get a room because there weren't any cleans ones yet. Desk staff was very polite and helpful. Check in was easy and smooth. Hotel is kind of located difficult to unload. Park in front on a very busy road. Then move car to paid lot. Even if you are a Gold member you pay for parking. Gold Member parking area is very small so you will probably end up out in a public lot next to hotel. You pay via your reservation. I hate a room that the TV is mounted on a wall beside the bed. Im a person that likes to look forward while watching TV. Very uncomfortable to watch to the right side. The head board is a pony wall in the middle of the room...one side bed, opposite side a work counter. Set up very nice if you are working. Many plug ins. I like no carpet on the floors but room was very echo-y. Lighting was either too bright or too dim...no in between. Room 101 of course was front of building, ground floor on the busy street side, so car and hiway noise is a bit much. Other then that room was nice. Very nice coffee nook. Bed was very comfortable. Sheets and towels soft. Bathroom well stocked. Shower and sink both take A LONG time to even get warm. When you're ready to give up...keeping trying. Toilet tissue holder is practically mounted behind the toilet.. We removed roll and placed on vanity. We ate breakfast (not free) in the hotel. We ordered of menu (worth the price) but a buffet is offered which has a very good selections. The buffet was actually better than menu...the waitress was awesome! Very polite and helpful. She gave us a good start to our day. We stayed 2 nights and the same beautiful woman helped us both mornings. Hotel has a very nice little store. Will definitely not stay in another Cambria Hotel but im very loyal to Quality and Comfort Inns. We actually enjoyed our stay but will choose differently next time. I should have read the reviews.
