We went to Hotel Ensleigh to experience having a coffee followed by lunch. We were not disappointed. We had a nice coffee in the lounge soaking in the atmosphere of this beautiful old building and looking out onto the serene gardens. It was peaceful and relaxing. All the staff were absolutely lovely to us and it was a pleasure to see how well groomed they all looked. I even went and had a nice chat to the florist who was working his magic on flower arrangements around the hall and lounge. The dining rooms had beautiful table settings, white napery, fresh flowers and lamps on each table. Lunch was delicious, and the desert was exquisite. The prices were reasonable considering the standard of the food. The whole experience was exceptional.

Awful experience with Endsleigh. My baby shower was being organised by my sister and friend back in June, which unfortunately had to be rearranged due losing our grandad very suddenly. We were told we could not change the date at first and could not have our deposit back as it had already gone into their bank account… We were then told we could rebook a different date with our deposit still in tact which we did, but were soon told the date we wanted was double booked so couldn’t have it and would have to pay another deposit to secure a different date. Very confusing being told different things, clearly the staff don’t communicate properly. I’m appalled with the lack of empathy shown by the reception staff dealing with the situation, I really expected better and have been left very disappointed. We have now chosen to take our custom elsewhere!

Beautiful historic hotel sensibly and chicly updated. Staff very attentive. Our suite was quite comfortable..terrific bed and lovely bath including charming decor and sitting area. The gardens are amazing and you can walk down to the river Tamar from the hotel. Breakfasts amazing, dinner good. Small ******; pillows are all the same. I like a softer version fwiw.
Hope to come back again; really a stunning spot.

Two wonderful lunches on consecutive days with two different friends. The food is so delicious and is cooked with imagination and skill - congratulations to the chef and his/her team. Excellent value. Delightful staff. A wonderful setting and it was so lovely to eat while watching the swallows swooping low over the lawn on two idyllic English summer days. One small thing - the maitre d's desk by the entrance to the dining room just gets in the way and it makes one feel awkward shimmying behind it to get through. Thank you Team Endsleigh for a lovely experience.

Really enjoyed our stay… quite unique in that it doesn’t feel like a hotel.. very low key and relaxed. Waiting staff are all superb (particular thanks to wonderful, charming head waiter Kryzyztof). Dinner was out of this world. Grounds and gardens are stunning. Not far to the incredible scenery of Dartmoor (wild swimming, prehistoric sites, rocky outcrops and free ranging sheep, ponies and cattle). All in all a very special place.

Although a stay at Endsleigh is beyond our means we often visit for the day just to walk the gardens. On this last occasion we took a party of 8 for one of the Hotel's picnic afternoon teas and all agreed that this was an experience worth travelling for. Not only was the food superlative (much better, some said, than the top rated London hotels they have sampled) but the value for money was beyond excellent. A return visit pretty soon is very much on the cards.

We were looking for a hotel to relax and unwind in a tranquil setting and had a fantastic three nights here. Lovely room (overlooking the stables, one overlooking the garden would be even better), very comfortable sitting rooms and fabulous restaurant. The food and wine were really excellent. Sitting out in the garden was a great way to spend an afternoon after a walk on the moors. The gardens themselves are absolutely fantastic and we spent an hour or so wandering around each day - having a stretch of the Tamar on the doorstep was amazing. Massages can be arranged in the room and fishing can be organised on the Tamar - a must for next time!
