Can’t say it’s run down per se, but dated. Great check-in guy, and a huge room, but that’s it. The place is dark and dank. I’m attaching photos which will be more descriptive.
The worst was noise in the room starting at about 1 AM lasting over two hours. The first hour and a half we experienced basically sonic booms in the room. The whole room shook, particularly the ceiling, making it impossible to sleep, in fact, waking us up. This noise repeated Every 15 to 60 seconds for the next hour and a half. Crazy loud BOOM. We were on the top floor so someone jumping above us was not an option. Maybe the noise was coming from a room next-door where someone was body slamming. The last 45 minutes we spent listening to a kid cry in the room next-door from about 2:45 to 3:30 AM.

The service was great. Nice breakfast in the morning. Liked the gym equipment an lounge area. Didn't use the pool or hot tub although they looked nice!

People in other reviews commented on the “smells” in this hotel, but the price and location were good, and we just needed a place for one night, so we booked. There is definitely a musty smell in the lobby. We rented two rooms. One room also had a musty smell, but my husband cracked open the window and we never noticed the smell again. We attribute this to the fact that this is an older hotel. All that said, the rooms are large, the bathroom was clean and the beds comfortable and ours definitely had updated/new bedding. There is a microwave and mini fridge in each room as well. The hotel was really full when we arrived, but surprisingly we didn’t hear any noise. I would say this is an older hotel but we had a great night sleep and will also note the front desk staff was very friendly (we arrived around 9 pm)

I went here to rent a room, I told the desk clerk that I have stayed there a lot in the past and that I grew up in Hannibal. I asked for a quiet room, she suggested 317, a king suite. I asked to see it and a cleaning lady showed it to me, I started to pay and the cleaning lady said, we will hold it for you go ahead and meet your friend. My friend was at Fiddlesticks. I went back after lunch and there was a different person working, a guy named Jerry or Terry, can’t recall, he said I did not have a room on hold and the price I had been told before was more now. He was rude and kept saying the same thing over when I would ask a question like about a senior discount. He said that’s AAA or Arpp. I said, I have a choice member #. I read it off and he said, you don’t have any discounts on it. I said, you always get a discount if you are a choice member. He said the same thing, you don’t have any discounts. He was sour and very unfriendly. I told him that he hadn’t treated me right and I was leaving and going elsewhere ,I will now never go back to this motel, too bad, but there are many nicer places close by.
