Okoboji Inn & Suites

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Okoboji Inn and Suites. If I were rating the staff, I would give them 10 stars - they are so helpful and welcoming. Overall it was a great visit, but just a few things to mention... Pros: - It's a smaller facility, and when we were there it was very, very quiet. We loved that - They have a wide variety of games and outdoor activities (corn hole, outdoor jenga) that my kiddos enjoyed. The fire pit was also a hit! - The hotel is close to a walking/running trail. You can access this just behind the building and it made for a wonderful start to our mornings. Cons: - The mattresses are a soft pillowtop variety. As a family who loves more medium firm mattresses we didn't really enjoy this, but mattress feel is so subjective that I wanted to mention it. - The "suites" have a sitting room open to the beds, just FYI if you're looking for a door. We solved this with a simple tension curtain rod and a curtain for some separation. - There were stains on our carpet and the couch in our suite had some tears/taped damage. Just FYI if you're looking for a perfect appearance in a hotel. - The breakfast is very carb heavy (waffles, toast, bagels, cereal). I think the yogurt and hard boiled eggs in the fridge were the only items not super carb heavy. Just FYI if you're hoping for protein at breakfast. - There are only stairs to access the second floor (no elevator). We didn't mind, but if you have mobility issues be sure to request a first floor room. Overall it felt clean and was comfortable for out stay. And that staff!! They are wonderful! :)

Our school soccer team stayed here for the soccer tournament and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. First of all the location was great and so close to Arnolds Park. I am a freak about cleanliness especially at hotels and this place did not disappoint. So clean and well run! The staff was amazing. Especially Amy. She went above and beyond to make sure our team had a wonderful time. She let the girls do s’mores on the fire pit, let us take over the lobby for a movie and for team meals. She went out of her way to help us and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again and if our team comes back next year I sure hope coach books this place! Oh, and I am not the only one who felt this way. All the parents were very pleased and the hotel made our trip a very memorable and special trip. Thank you so much for all you did for us!
