We visited Six Senses in July for a week, and rented two rooms. The resort is absolutely amazing. The reception and care staff was professional, responsive and sorted all of our needs. It was hot and they consistently gave hotel guests water, which is a big plus in my book. The gym is large and has more than enough equipment to accommodate customers. The hotel is secluded in that it is a ways out of Bodrum, so you are somewhat a captive audience. This explains my only gripe about the hotel. The food is way overpriced. As a result we asked the staff for other options, but they were reluctant to say, talking somewhat in circles and discouraging us to seek out going into town. Finally, after pressing they told us we can go to Didim, they said it was 15 minutes away. So we got in the taxi to Didim and it wasn't 15 minutes but 45 minutes. I wasn't happy about how we had to press and was given wrong information. Luckily, on the long drive to Didim, I noticed restaurants in Akbuk, which actually is 15 minutes away. So, we went the following day and lots of tourists visit Akbuk. There are a few nice restaurants there and a local supermarket. The food is a fraction of the cost at the hotel, a fraction! I'm a bit suspicious why we were given the run around and discouraged about going into town, but maybe it's nothing. The staff were great after all on everything else. But, I have to ding them a star for our having to press to get information on going to town where there are much cheaper restaurants. Would I go back?? Yes, the hotel and staff are lovely. But, I'd definitely eat out. Taxis are cheap to Akbuk, and the food there is acceptable. Restaurants, cafes, lounges are beach side and have a beautiful sunset at dinner.
