Rebecca at front desk was very nice and welcoming. The pool was milky full of leaves and bugs, out side trash near the room full of trash, room carpet filthy, walls filthy, shower head hanging out the wall, walls in bathroom peeling and cracked, ceiling was cracked, air conditioner vent cracked, only one lamp, the lamp was full of rust, very ran down hotel. I stayed here about five years ago it wasn’t like this. I was very surprised. We spent the day at center point and still ended up having to drive home we just didn’t feel safe and comfortable.

For our trip to Cedar Point, we tried to find a hotel that didn't blow our budget out of the water. We settled on Country Inn & Suites Sandusky South. The lobby was fine with check in. Clean and friendly. In our room, we were immediately hit with, what was likely, years of cigarette smoke smell. Next we were hit with the sound of the air conditioner chugging along. The beds were comfortable to sleep on except the pillows are the size of the monitor you are likely reading this on. Bathrooms were clean, but dated. My wife hated that the shower has a gap in the middle with the water spray. No bugs. No questionable stains. Breakfast was very easy to pass on. Waffles were not that great for the amount of time you have to wait to get them. There is a little bit of other stuff, but not a lot. The location is right off of I-90 and about 20 minutes from Cedar Point. You would have to pay out of the nose if you want to get closer. The hotel is next to a very active train track. Surprisingly, all I heard of it was a light hum from time to time. Bottom line: If you want a budget hotel, this place is good. Just don't expect anything great.

Soft baked cookies
This hotel was in a good location, clean and friendly staff. They offered free baked cookies that was a grest when you arrived.
Breakfast was a little disappointing but it was ok . I would stay here again if needed.
