I have never been more pleasantly surprised than visiting this hotel. I was looking for an affordable hotel with a good location, so my expectations was mediocre. First impression couldn't be better with an amazing lobby, friendly service, and quality design throughout. The room was equally stylish, super clean, and with great space. Icing on the cake, I had forgot my shaving kit, but after visiting the reception they gave me a free shaving kit. I will definitely choose this hotel next time Im going back to Milano. It was honestly my best hotel experience!

Stayed with my son for one night and really liked the service—everything was quick and efficient. The location is convenient, right next to the train station. The girls at the reception were very pleasant. There was no kettle in the room, but they brought one after we called. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom and toilet.
It was a bit dark, but not a big issue. For the price, I think it's a great option in Milan.

Clean hotel. Super pleased with the chambermaid who was servicing our floor. We did not need any room service but need toilet rolls replenishment. So we asked her for some toilet paper and change of towels. She went over the extra mile to come into the room to take our old towels and also clear all the trash bins!! We were asking if she can help to get us a kettle and she really brought it up and placed it outside of our room door cos we had the privacy tag on. Good service!!!

A little different than I’m use to, the hotel is on one floor of a building. The room was spotless and very nice. The features of the room were mostly what I would expect from a high end hotel. The only things I would have liked were a softer bed and fluffier pillows (and my room was 13 lol) The location was perfect just a minute or two walk to the trains, and right across the street were restaurants selling anything you could want. I’ve seen this property rated very low and was concerned but when I arrived I was very pleased.

My husband and I were here for 5 days for business and sight seeing. Hotel is stylish and located well enough to metro stations and main central metro making getting around pretty easy. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Room was spacious enough and bed was very comfortable. There are a few restaurants around the corner and an Aldi grocery a few minutes walk to stock up on water and snacks. ALL the staff were top notch but a special ”shout out” to Verity in breakfast service. I had slightly sprained my ankle and she was kind enough to provide me with a bag of ice. She even followed up the next day to see how I was doing and if I needed ice again. Her kindness was much appreciated. We recommend staying at Duo Milan.

The location is very nice, close to central train station, and subway station, in central station has lots of restaurants and shop.
The hotel is quite big, they have a big area for chilling and watch olympic.
The room is nice and clean, have flipflop, clean towel, shower gel provided. The hairdryer only last 30secs and stop, have to wait awhile and start again, it takes so long to dry my hair.
Overall is a very nice hotel, highly recommended

right across the central train station, was easy to navigate around to find it. but that also means that it's pretty far off from the places of interest! we chose to walk and it took us bout half an hour to reach the galleria

Splendid!!!!! I’m kinda wordless but just highly recommend this extraordinary hotel! It’s located at the center of Milan city center. 2 minutes walk to the central station. 15minites drive to the Milan cathedral and shopping district. Very good scenery at the restaurant patio on 7th floor. All the staff are too nice to believe. Greeting and smiling all the time, very attentive and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfast and macaroons every day! Issam and every staff from the reception is so helpful. Concierge and velvet parking are also fantastic! They helped me to mail the postcard, which surprised me. Although the hotel is pricy, I still strongly recommend and I personally ensure that I will be back in the near future. Love ya, excelsior hotel, and all people there!!!

GGuest UserThe room is in a good location, about 10 minutes walk to the train station. The room is quite large, about 30 square meters, and provides everything for cooking, as well as a refrigerator and a safe. Dressing room. Free coffee, croissants, and unlimited free drinking water are provided at the front desk. The front desk staff has a good service attitude. I took my daughter to travel in Europe for more than 20 days during the summer vacation and stayed in 7 places. This is the apartment that our family is most satisfied with. The low prices in Milan supermarkets have increased my love for Milan.

GGuest UserThis was my first stay at this hotel, although I have visited Star Hotels in other cities. This hotel was lovely. Just steps (but far enough away from the congestion) from Milano Centrale. Large and comfortable room. A good selection for breakfast. Professional and friendly staff. A nice patio area, perfect for enjoying a drink when the weather is nice, as it was during my visit.. An eco-friendly hotel. This is where I'll stay the next time I'm in Milan.

GGuest UserWe arrived in Bergamo airport via Ryan air and quickly bought tickets for the bus transfer into Milan Centrale station for 12 euros each. It being a Friday evening the traffic was fairly heavy and instead of the transfer taking 50 minutes it took and hour and 5 minutes but that was understanable on a Friday evening especially as the area had just had a heavy rain storm. We arrived in Milan Centrale and if we had taken a correct turn we would have arrived at the Grand Doria Hotel after a six minute walk. Sadly we turned the wrong way (mainly in part to a review on this site that told us to walk right at the Star Hotel. You dont. There is a Star Hotel on either side of the road. Walk between them and it's left from the station car park). Once we arrived (45 minutes after getting off the bus) we were presented with a beautiful hotel. It's been around since the turn of the 20th century and has kept that look whilst being descretely updated for the 21st century. We checked in quickly and was told that the resturant was closing in ten minutes so instead we bought some supplies from the Carrfour Extra supermarket which is located across the road and to the left. The hotel room itself was lovely. A massive bed, plenty of wardrobe space, a lovely bathroom with a toilet, shower, bath and bidea and all decked out in marble. The room had a good size television mounted to the wall opposite the bed (around 42 inch tv is my guess) and was in high definition. The breakfast, which was included, was excellent. Cereal, cheeses, figs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage (hot dog, european, style) juices, fresh coffee and tea, croissants, and plenty of other pastries. The choice was huge. We spent the day in Milan and then in the evning looked for somewhere to eat. Around the hotel choices were limited and closer to the centre Milan was heaving with people so we chose to eat in one of the two resturants the hotel had to offer. We ate in the Cafe Doria. My Wife had a delicious pasta dish and I had the veal escolope with a citrus sald and we shared a green salad. We alos had a large bottle of water between us and I had a very nice glass of red wine suggested by the maitre de. The total for this was 55 euro and was very reasonable. The maitre de even chased after us after we left to make sure we took the rest of the bottle of water with us. He was a lovely man. I highly recommend this hotel. It's location is good. Far enough away from the centre of Milan that you don't have to suffer with the noice of the city and close enough that it's a three minute walk to the nearest Metro station (2 euros for 90 mins of unlimited travel) and a 6 minute walk to the main station. It's beautifully kept, the staff are very friendly and it's well worth it's four stars. Normally they charge 285 euros per night but we managed to get the room for two nights for 250 euros. A bargain and well worth it. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserWhat a cute hotel! A short walk from Centrale station. It doesn’t have a traditional reception, but check in was automated and easy and my emails were answered very quickly. The check in instructions were very easy to follow. The room is compact, very clean and modern with everything we needed. Large comfortable bed, in room safe, refrigerator, coffee pod machine, kettle, tea bags etc. The bathroom is so cute, but again, has everything needed, including a bidet, hairdryer, heated towel rack and magnified mirror. I would definitely stay again. Recommended.

I have been a business traveler across Europe for over 30 years and unfortunately had the most shocking experience of my traveling career at the age of 67. I stood at the reception with my large suitcase and small cabin suitcase placed right beside me. I handed over my passport to the receptionist as required for check-in. After a few seconds, I casually turned back to discover that my cabin suitcase was missing! The exit door from the hotel is right beside the reception. On enquiring with the receptionist, he indifferently mentioned that he had no idea about what had happened. There were no cameras anywhere in the hotel. They simply gave me the address to the nearest police station and asked me to file a complaint. Please note that this was 10:30 PM at night and I was a foreigner in Milan. I lost 700 EUR, 300 USD, my iPad, my laptop, three credit cards, my tax identity card, and important business documents that were in the suitcase. What is more disturbing is the next point. I came to remember a gentleman sitting right behind me in the reception area when I was checking in. As soon as I turned around to discover my stolen suitcase, this gentleman was missing too! Remember this is a small hotel and I would have noticed if the person behind me moved toward the elevator or anywhere inside the hotel. Also note that I never saw this person in the hotel again over the course of my stay. I do not want to make any accusations, but I just want to state my observations here. I was certainly not followed by any one from the nearby train station to the hotel and I am convinced that the thief was someone already present inside the hotel when I entered. What was most disturbing was the indifference of the hotel staff to my situation. When such a theft has happened on their own property, shouldn’t it be of major concern to the hotel staff? They seemed to show no concern at all and simply told me there is nothing they can do. At the end of my stay, they covered about 35 euros (couple of beverages and some snacks I had at the hotel) as consolation. But I did not want any consolation. Shouldn’t it be the hotel’s concern when a guest’s belongings have been stolen on the hotel property? They did not extend any help and left me to fend for myself. It is certainly not their responsibility but if this is the attitude toward guests, I would never recommend anyone to stay at such a hotel. I extend caution to anyone considering this hotel – DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COMFORTABLE AND SECURE HOTEL EXPERIENCE.

GGuest UserThe hotel enjoys a highly convenient location, very close to Milano Station. Upon check-in, the reception, in typical Italian style, lacked a greeting or a smile. However, the room was generously spacious and comfortable, and the housekeeping service was commendable. The only downside was the noticeable noise from trams, particularly during the night.

I’ll start by saying - download Google Maps on your mobile. Even without internet it will work to get you wherever you heading out. + 15 min walk to from Milano Duomo, on the route there plenty of restaurants, cafe, grocery and deli stores. Pharmacy and metro 10-12 min away from apartment. The apartment was spacious - living room with TV, dining table, chairs and loveseat. Bedrooms are small. Small kitchen with fridge, sink, dishwasher?!, small electric plate for cooking. Spacious shower room with washing machine, and no dryer; toilet and bidet; two sinks. WiFi box for opening the door had a password on the bottom of the device. Working lift to the 4th floor. - you need to have/use internet for opening of the street gate (it’s keyless) and then the door as into the apartment was also keyless. Physical Keys were left inside for a further use. No mosquito/ bug screens on the windows. Noise from outside is loud, almost like NYC. The beams in the loft were issue for my tall husband‘ forehead. The place was not the cleanest, cobwebs in the corners, dead bugs on the walls smeared. Be aware to get to lift you have to walk with luggage two flight of stairs. Overall, I would book it again when travel with family of 4 as toilets flushed, water was hot in showers, good mattresses and good location.

The most disgusting receptionist I have ever met in my life works here, and I travel quite a lot. It feels like this Asian woman hates people. The first time I thought it was my imagination, but no. She will never give you receipts for payment; in front of foreign-speaking people, she asks you in Italian to pay extra money for services that are included in the price, for example, breakfast. She inflates the prices announced by another receptionist on the phone and puts you in a room that is a different class than your reservation. She behaves arrogantly and speaks with disgust. Maybe she's underpaid? It feels like she is completely unsatisfied in life. I would advise her to change the hotel to a higher one and let them teach her how to communicate with regular customers (Unfortunately this is in the past) if she is able. I hope that the manager will take action against this woman and teach her correct behaviour, otherwise the hotel will have to work only with random tourists. and of course, note the extreme noise from the street, stale food for breakfast, served without hygiene standards, a terribly working air conditioner - this is especially sensitive in the summer season, dirt and stains on the bed, a bad-smelling blanket and the cherry on top is the crowds of dubious characters on the floor, constantly waiting for someone. I never make such a kind of reviews but my patience is over and unfortunately, convenience to the station doesn’t deserve such mockery and humiliation.
