Hotels in Porta Venzia, Milan

Good location, friendly staff and a good breakfast. I booked a room with a double bed and ac. Only to arrive and find the double bed is 2 singles beds pushed together. This isn't a double bed just because you put a double sheet on. They turn off the AC in winter, so you can't use it. Absolutely bizarre. They did however change me to a king single room and supply me with a fan. They also advertised they have a sauna with no mention of an extra charge. €30 per hour they charge. If you are going to advertise something then you need to provide it or state ”no AC during winter, our double bed is two singles pushed together, the sauna is €30 an hour”. This hotel needs to do better with the description!!

I´m not sure how it is like to stay at Ostelzzz for several nights, but I find it a very convenient solution for me who arrived around midnight in Milan, and already had leave from Milano Centrale by noon on the next day. I had a proper sleep for one night in a capsule. It really was a hostel, but with so much better privacy. Staffs were extremely kind and helpful. They gave me a welcome drink. Online check-in in advance made my actual check-in so much easier. Had everything I needed, incl breakfast, towel too. Clean and well-organized. Breakfast was simple, but more than good enough for me. I wouln´t hesitate to choose Ostelzzz next time.

I stayed at the Hotel Galles with my two year old son to visit the Christmas markets and generally do some sightseeing in December 2022. From the get go the staff were fantastic and we had a room with a large and comfortable cot (with small duvet and pillows) and a big bath tub. The breakfast is a buffet style and has a great range to select from. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night and it was beautiful 🤩 I managed a sneaky glass of wine at the Cardiff bar where Christian was absolutely lovely with my little boy. Whilst we didn’t use the pool, it was great to know it was there if it became too chilly to go out. The location of the hotel is perfect, ten minute walk from the Central Station - don’t make the mistake of getting the airport train to the Cordona station…it’s a 50 minute walk even if the train is quicker! The reception staff were incredibly helpful and gave us lots of advice about where to go and how to get there. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to others. There’s is some residual noise from the streets and the trains but it’s an inner city hotel, so I expected that but it didn’t keep us awake at night. Thanks to all the staff who made our weekend away extra special.

We decided to stay at Hotel Napoleon as part of our rail tour of Italy. Whilst relatively small the rooms are well equipped, and stylish as a the hotel itself. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 11pm and the concierge opened the bar so we could get a beer! The breakfast was superb. We stopped at the hotel twice and on the return journey got a better room at the front with a small balcony. There was however a foul smell coming from stir bidet which we reported and unfortunately the cleaner’s had gone home. The concierge did his best to clean it, which was an improvement but the waste pipe needed a proper clean. It was a shame as it spoiled our stay a little. That said the hotel is in a brilliant location for the railway station (15min) walk and Central Milan (30min) walk. In all a great hotel and would stay there again (but would check the bathroom for smells!) would also be helpful if the description stated that the bar is not open very often

We booked our trip with the priority of visiting Lake Como, Bellagio etc. We added two nights at the end of the trip in Milan before our flight home and left booking our accommodation til last. I didn’t have high expectations at all, especially since most of the service around Lake Como was pretty average. I was also reluctant to book this hotel as it was very new at the time of booking with no reviews etc. By far this was the best hotel we stopped in on our trip and felt the value was great! Alexandra & Simona on the front desk need a special mention. On check in, despite a queue slowly forming behind us, Alexandra was really patient in giving us 10/10 customer service helping us get accustomed with the area so we could maximise our time exploring before our room was ready. We were able to leave the bags at the hotel for free during this time. My partner also got in touch with the hotel in advance as we got engaged earlier in our trip. For comparison, we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Bellagio on the night of the engagement who knew about it all through my partner’s planning but did no special touches etc. I guess it is not a given but it’s a special touch… meanwhile NH Corso pulled out all the stops! We had a complimentary room upgrade (205) and were welcomed to balloons, confetti, fruit and a personalised message in the room! It was such a special touch! Alexandra also recommended a delicious local bakery called Pattini which is great for breakfast if you don’t have it included like us. For the hotel room itself, since it is a new hotel, it is very modern, clean and functional. Nice little touches like lighting in the wardrobe, a nice big mirror, hooks to hang up your jackets etc. It sounds a bit pedantic bUt it all made it such a comfortable stay! They have amenities you can request from the reception too but they are sustainable in considering wastage etc which is nice to see! My only tiny feedback would be the seal on the shower door isn’t fixed properly which caused the bathroom to get wet quickly, Im sure they can fix this quickly though :) the bar in the hotel lobby also looks great but we didn’t get chance to try. The hotel is a good location to the train station but it is still a 15 min walk, so keep in mind if you have a lot of luggage. Definitely doable though like we did! The area zona Buenos Aires is lovely and lots of shops around for an evening stroll. We went to the Portobello restaurant approx 10 min walk away which I would recommend. All in all definitely consider this hotel, especially when you look at the price compared to other £££ ‘central’ hotels as this is located super close to a subway station which makes transport so easy.

When I arrived, 3 receptionist talking to each other, didn’t acknowledge me at all. After a minute of standing there finally someone said hello. I felt so uncomfortable and not welcomed at all, i wanted to leave already. A half empty water bottle was left in my mini bar. On my last night i took a shower and wanted to order room service and go to bed early as i had to wake up at 5am. I kept calling front desk to connect me to room service and they kept saying “we will let them know to call you”. Why do i need to wait over 20 minutes for somebody to take my order? Nobody called me back, i was in my bathrobe ready to relax but i had to change and go downstairs as I was hungry. I asked the receptionist what is going on she said “they are busy”. I said but thats not my problem, why is nobody taking my order? Why is nobody calling me back for 20 minutes? I need to order food. She smiled and said “You can go complain to the restaurant manager”. I said “sorry is this a joke?!” She just stood there smiling. At that point i was just upset and i walked into the restaurant. 3 tables! Only 3 tables and you cant pick up the phone to take my order?! I was absolutely shocked. I spoke to the Restaurant manager and he said “It will be quicker if you sit down”. I had no choice, and I sat down for dinner. That was not my plan. I was so annoyed. Finally after dinner going back upstairs to sleep. Someone knocks at my door at 1am!!! I said “No”! The person says” Que No - Aqua!” I realised its room service knocking at the WRONG DOOR!! He went next door and gave the water to the right person who ordered it. I couldnt sleep until 3am and had to wake up again. Never again will I stay at this Hotel. The service is horrific. Definitely not worth the money spend. Sadly the google reviews are switched off otherwise i would write the same review there.

This is the room I am most satisfied with. There is Chinese food just two minutes downstairs. The service attitude is very good. There are free drinks and snacks. The room is super quiet and has soundproof walls. The toiletries are also a super good brand. I like the scent very much.

excellent location of this hotel with 10 min walking distance to Milano Centrale, metro station just outside and friendly staff. Our triple bedroom was great, for 3 adults more than enough - great beds, great bathroom with all neccessities, very clean and spacious. breakfast is good (only one thing missing was scrambled eggs but pleanty of other stuff) - and great great thing from ladies on the reception, we were welcomed with complimentary espresso as welcome drink, such a warm gesture from them :-)

We stayed here twice , 4 days over Xmas in 2022 & 5 in late Jan /,early Feb 2023. All the staff were helpful and delightful . The restaurant deserves special mention as the food is very good and in fact was vastly superior to at least 8 other restaurants in the area , the salmon & sliced beef deserve special mention . The decor is 70/80’s and we didn’t mind it . Beds are good , rooms clean and our room on 8 th floor had a balcony and decent sized shower . Breakfast is fine , nothing startling plenty of choices .

Situata in una strada zeppa di negozi e di confusione, la struttura è estremamente tranquilla e il personale è discreto e disponibile. A due passi da Porta Venezia e dalla fermata della Metro, si è rivelato il posto ideale per una breve vacanza milanese.
