Jenny's Country Manor

We stayed in a nice room. We were there on a weekend with free breakfast. It's right near the Taconic State Parkway. The kitchenette was great--it was so nice to be able to store our farmstand purchases.

A really cute motel! The staff was very attentive and kind. Donna was helpful with getting us comfortable in our cozy room. Everything was clean and tended to and pasted the dust test. The area is beautiful, just off the Taconic Parkway, and the motel sits across the street from an historic schoolhouse from 1820.

Okay if the bar is low The property gets some good reviews and not-so-good reviews. This is towards the latter. First the positive: there's a lot to do and see within 30 minutes; the area is safe and very rural; the manager was courteous and check-in was easy; it's truly pet friendly. Now the less positive: my single room was fairly small, which is okay but it borders on an asian style with no refrigerator or microwave; the furnishings are quite dated, suitable but old; same for the bedding; the toilet refilled every few minutes and loudly; there is no sound insulation between rooms, I could clearly hear conversations of neighbors and the road noise was loud at night; the building is in a state of early to moderate decay with some rotted deck boards and wobbly railing; the interior and exterior haven't seen paint in ages; it's expensive for what it is. Most of the photos I've seen online don't reflect what I experienced.

It is an older place but had everything we needed. Donna at the front desk was very friendly and attentive when we had some requests about our room.

Quiet property with country feel and decor. Manager pleasant and helpful. Ok for one night stay. Walls could definitely use a new coat of paint and building could use updating . Overall pleasant stay.

The property was very run down. The furniture abd bedding was worn out, there was a second door in the room that was apparently for emergencies, it was boarded up so I couldnt see out. I felt very unsafe and left immediately even though I had paid in full.
