Homewood Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City - Midvale/Sandy

The hotel is not far from the airport. There is an airport shuttle but call the hotel when you need a car to pick you up. The rooms are large and have a microwave. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and hot tub.

We checked in here after our flight. It was easy to get from the airport and the staff was friendly with a fast check in. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Great one night stay. We didn't stay for breakfast since we wanted to eat out, but the spread looked good.

There is a strange smell in this hotel, like something is rotting. There are also water stains in the ceiling, which indicates that there could be some sort of mold issue in this property. I stayed in room 239 and the entire wing of this hotel smells badly. Again I have a feeling it is mold related.

I'll edit this review if/when they BRING BACK DECAF COFFEE TO THE LOBBY. They completely removed it last week. Unfortunately, that will shade the rest of this review. This is an extended stay hotel that's easy to live in for long periods (and clearly many people do). We were here from just before Thanksgiving to just before Christmas (about 5 weeks), then returned for another week. We're scheduled to return in Feb/Mar... we'll see. Location: If you are skiing at Brighton or Solitude, there is a UTA ski bus stop directly out the front door; could not be easier. If you are headed to Alta/Snowbird, I suggest driving to the Historic Sandy TRAX station park and ride to catch that UTA ski bus, because it has a big parking lot and you know you'll get a seat. Otherwise, you are driving yourself (check for prices and required reservations to park at all the ski places; it is VERY dynamic and has already changed for a couple of them this year). The hotel is off Fort Union Ave by just far enough to not have too much road noise. It's walking distance to any/all retail you could dream of. Seriously, ANY. That includes a grocery store. Lots of restaurants, Target, Walmart, a Sierra Outfitters, and lots more. Amenities: Nice big pool, decent hot tub which is usually hot enough. Both can be overrun with kids and families, but if you keep your eye on things you can find quiet time in there, usually. As at any hotel, the highly-treated water can start to make your skin itch after too many days of apres-ski hot tubbing. The fitness room is large with lots of equipment; they don't have a Universal, but do have treadmills, elliptical, Peleton bike, recumbent, weight rack and two benches, assorted mats, rollers, Bosus, etc. Balance scale to check your weight. Breakfast is pretty good for this kind of hotel. Three kinds of eggs that cycle through (cheese and veggie omelettes, plain scrambled), three kinds of meat that do the same (bacon, ham, sausage). Potatoes or sometimes biscuits&gravy. Waffles. Oatmeal. Most days they put out a cereal selection. Canned fruit. Wednesday is the managers social dinner, which consists of a lettuce salad and a main like meatballs, BBW meat, or chili. Beer and wine, a dessert like blondies or lemon bars. We REALLY appreciate the Wednesday "dinner." Service: The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful, every one of them. Most speak some English (some do not, at all). Any problems we had with our room were addressed quickly. Rooms/Building: The building is shaped like a circle. In the summer, be careful of rooms that face the courtyard as there is a basketball court out there which is noisy. The rooms are big enough with what could be called a "full" kitchen: 2 burner stovetop, full size fridge, dishwasher, drip coffee maker. Not really enough plates and flatware, one big and one small saucepan, toaster, microwave. Plenty of uncovered parking, mostly in the rear of the hotel. You can get a room with a gas fireplace, whi

Great Two Room, Two Bath Suite, Living Room, Kitchen and Fireplace. Costs less than getting two separate rooms. Good breakfast. Close to everything. Had a patio with BBQ’s and a basketball court. Nice swimming pool.

Definitely an older hotel. Doesn’t quite look as new as the pictures portray it. Desk clerk was friendly. Room was semi clean but had lots of stains also. Breakfast was pathetic - no real eggs and not even yogurt.

Needs to be refurbished badly. The room smelled of dog as soon as we got into the room. Our allergies and asthma kicked in and both of us were stuffed up from all the dog hair in every fiber in the room. There was a very loud noise coming from upstairs like the spin cycle of a washing machine. They couldn't figure out what it was. No one was in the room above us. Refrigerator wasn't clean as there was beer and sodas left behind. Bathroom floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned either. It was just nasty. We probably won't be staying at a Hilton hotel again since animals are in rooms now and it's disgusting knowing g a dogs gone to the bathroom and you could be walking on that in the carpet.

Great hotel , great staff and nice breakfast . Staff was very friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean and spot on. Breakfast had variety and was delicious . Having a kitchen is a plus if you want to try out

This was the No. 1 hotel in Midvale the last time we visited and no surprise, it still is. We just spent 24 absolutely heavenly nights here and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The hotel is just perfection: the business center is operational, the fitness room is massive, with 2 benches, free weights, lots of the usual machines, towels, a water dispenser and a doctor’s scale. Also oversized is the indoor pool and jacuzzi, again lots of towels. The laundry room is spotless, with 2 giant washers ($1.75 for 30 minutes), 2 giant dryers ($1.50 for 45 minutes). Breakfast is varied and always delicious: a different hot egg variety each day, sausage, potatoes, make-your-own waffles which the kids all loved, yogurts, apples/bananas, blueberries some days, muffins/bagels/breads, oatmeal with an array of toppings and pitchers of milk (whole and 2%). The Wednesday Evening Reception is just as good, with salad, chips, a main dish, along with thick and tasty Minestrone soup or chili. We were fortunate enough to have a sprawling 2-Bedroom Suite (King, 2 Doubles) with a bath tub in each bedroom. Windows open and are screened for a bug-free breeze. Housekeepers are everywhere so you can always get more towels. And what wonderful front desk staffers, all eager to make your stay memorable, like Sierra who maintains a cheerful smile even working all night long… Debbie, so very efficient in helping you receive your mail and scheduling housekeeping…. And friendly Sarah on weekends when you just might need something extra for your room. We can’t wait to come back for a 3rd time! Good show, GM Donna and your amazing staff!
