It was a warm welcome we received after a long day on the canal. Excellent locally brewed beer although not on the premises. We arrived on quiz night. Readily welcomed into one of the teams but we didn’t really help their effort. This is a proper no nonsense tradition local pub. No food beyond crisps and nuts and better for it. Long may their hard work be rewarded. And a big thank you from my wife for the box of chocolates from one of our quiz team members

Worst bed I have ever slept in, the springs were coming through the mattress, the heating didn’t work and there was one shower/toilet shared between all rooms, the shower head was held on with zip ties. Me and my colleagues had not booked this it was booked by someone else, if we had know how bad it was going to be we would have got a primer inn or travel lodge. The lady that greeted us was nice enough but the place was outdated and in need of updating

This accommodation is dirty and scruffy. It’s not a shared bathroom between 2 - it’s shared between 4 double rooms - rooms 1 & 2 (which I had) don’t have heating - the radiator doesn’t work, the curtains were hanging off and the bathroom was pitted! On a plus there’s a lovely bar/restaurant just at the bottom of the street

This is NOT an established official hotel or b&b. If your just looking for a quiet room to stay in you'll be dissapointed, especially at the weekend. The rooms are right above the pub lounge drinking area so you hear everything full blast, even when your tv is on. This is a local old boozer for local people. (Royston Vasey comes to mind) The one shower bathroom toilet area is shared by the four accomodation rooms, as is the kitchen area, which could do with a good clean. There's lots of visible black mould in the kitchen and bathroom areas. The wifi is NOT free, it is BT and chargeable at a hourly , daily rate! The doors to each accomodation rooms have to be slammed loudly to get them to shut properly which was very annoying. After reading the reviews, and from being an overnight stayer, I can say this is definitely not worthy of any score above 3 out of 10.
