Wayside Inn

We arrived to find the hostess waiting in the car park for us. She said she had to go home to get her overnight bags but would show us the room before she left. We were the only people staying in the whole hotel. The pub/ restaurant was closed. We went out in the village for some food and returned in the dark a couple of hours later to find the hotel still deserted. The rooms did not have any tea/coffee making facilities so we had to go and find some (we had not been shown where this was). Most of the hotel was in semi darkness. All of the other guest room doors were open but empty. Some rooms were in total darkness as we walked through the hotel. It was all very creepy. The coffee machine was found but there were no cups so we had to look into cupboards to find some! We went to bed with no staff or other guests in the hotel and woke up/ left the hotel at 7.30 in the same situation. The room was okay but there were cobwebs in the corners of the room, the bathroom also did not feel particularly cared for. The whole experience was rather like being in a creepy reality tv show!

Was a very fun atmosphere with and employees and also other guess very nice and friendly and excellent wings

Very charming. I will stay there again.

Historically decorated place…very unique

P&W What a gem! The place is fantastically kept, the decor (including Holiday) was beautiful. Our room was comfortable, drinks and dinner at the Tavern were excellent. The Service was exceptional. Our check-in clerk (Brittany) was so nice and knowledgeable about the Inn. She gave us a tour along with the history. We loved our stay and will definitely return!
