I recently stayed at Travelodge Middlesbrough, and overall, it delivered exactly what I expected from a budget-friendly chain—clean, comfortable, and conveniently located accommodation without unnecessary frills. Location: The hotel is situated in a great spot—within walking distance of Middlesbrough town centre, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. It’s especially convenient if you're visiting Teesside University or heading out to explore the North Yorkshire Moors or coastal towns nearby. Check-in & Service: Check-in was quick and hassle-free. The staff were friendly, approachable, and happy to offer local tips or help with directions. While service is relatively minimal compared to full-service hotels, what’s offered is efficient and polite. Room Quality: The room was basic but clean, with a comfortable bed, decent lighting, and ample space for a short stay. As expected with Travelodge, there’s not a lot in terms of extras—no minibar, limited storage—but it covered the essentials: TV, desk, tea and coffee facilities, and good WiFi (though premium WiFi comes at a small extra charge). Bathroom: Functional and tidy with a powerful shower and fresh towels. It’s not luxurious, but it was well-maintained and served its purpose. Noise & Comfort: Some light traffic noise from nearby roads, but nothing too disruptive—especially with the windows closed. Beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the blackout curtains helped ensure a decent night’s sleep. Value for Money: This is where Travelodge shines. For the price, it’s hard to beat, especially if you're just looking for a place to sleep while spending your days out and about. Great value for solo travelers, couples, or business guests on a budget. Final Thoughts: Travelodge Middlesbrough won’t wow you with luxury, but it ticks all the right boxes for budget-conscious travelers who value convenience, cleanliness, and comfort. I’d happily stay again for a short trip or work-related visit.

Helpful friendly service from Amy at reception. Check in was fast and efficient and the rooms are clean, with nice bar for food and drink for the evening. Would definitely recommend for future stays and look forward to staying again on my next trip

Where do I start with this review... Upon arriving at the hotel I was greeted by a number of homeless people that were congregated at hotel entrance. Felt really uneasy having to "squeeze" past them. They were present in the area surrounding the hotel throughout the day. Not ideal for any solo female travellers. The hotel was clean, the reception staff friendly and check in was a breeze. The room was also pleasant but housekeeping had not left any towels, toilet paper was not refilled and tv remote did not work. I though I would go for a walk to discover I there was anything in the surrounding area. I am glad I did as I stumbled across a somebody trying to break into my vehicle. Thankfully nothing stolen. As for the surrounding area, dont bother, nothing but numerous closed shops and a few take-aways. Bed was comfy, but noise from main road outside lead to a disturbed nights sleep. Overall, an experience I will not forget, for all the wrong reasons.

The receptionist was absolutely lovely. Now to the room. The shampoo stuck on the wall had no shampoo in it and there were no phones in the room to ask for towels or shampoo. There were no towels for a couple just a small and a medium towel ! The handrail in the bathroom was broken, and worst of all it was £85 for one night. I have been to travelodge round the UK and this was not good.the bed was ok but creaked a lot! I will probably try to stay somewhere else if I ever have to.
