Middle Park Hotel

The room was incredibly small, it looked a lot bigger in the photos. My sister and I struggled to find somewhere to place our suitcases that we wouldn't fall over. Bed and shower both ok. The bathroom has a weird partly frosted glass panel where you can see the person having a shower which is very unpleasant. Very quiet, no noise at all. Very difficult to get heavy luggage up the stairs. When room was serviced they did an excellent job aside from missing some dirty dishes, but everything else great. Great location by tram stop and a little corner store. Staff lovely!

I eat at this hotel once a month for years and the food is fine however the double front door near the bar has a damage floor bolt bracket which I have reported for 3 years but is is never fixed. Not good enough MPH.

Loved the King Suite, lots of room, comfortable bed! Bathroom was awesome with double shower and claw bath. Was quieter than I expected, being on Canterbury Rd. Pub serves lovely meals and lots of cafes nearby for breakfast. A short walk to beach which is a bonus, also across the road for the light rail to the city or St Kilda.

We popped in here for a quick drink while passing on a discovery walk of St Kilda and old haunts like Middle Park. Decided to have a gin and asked what they had - the bar staff shrugged and said ‘the usual’ naming large company internationally old hat gins that really aren’t very interesting. So we opted for a cocktail which we paid over the odds to enjoy. It was mid afternoon and the bar was extremely quiet on a weekday.

This place held the most amazing event for us. They were so helpful and the host really made the night so special. The food was exquisite and the space perfect. Highly recommend and will be going back for sure :-)

Came here on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday dinner. I wanted to really like this but the food here was way below then what I expected. Ordered the Old Fashioned and it was super sweet and the ice cubes were small which quickly diluted the alcohol. Really disappointed. We then ordered the 1.4kg tomahawk steak medium rare, and it came out more like rare and very undercooked. After one bite we kindly asked for it to be cooked longer, which they obliged. It was a little bit better but some parts were still undercooked. Also this is the first time I’ve had a tomahawk steak that was already cut into pieces, kinda strange in my opinion as it loses its presentation on arrival. The accompanying sauces were just ok. On the positive, the staff here worked hard and was very accommodating to us even on a busy Saturday night which I appreciate. The atmosphere here was very jovial, at times loud as the crowd would sometimes sing along but all in good fun.

There is a well held thought, That when the Manager isn’t around (Andrea), Staff get lazy and standards fall. Well this is what happened - and unfortunately on Valentine’s Day too. We were in the Restaurant by ourselves - asked them to turn the (unnecessary) fans off THREE times - nope. So, ok, we moved to another table. Our food took a very long time to come - but again, that’s ok, happy to wait. Ordered my usual Wagu Beef Burger - but had to send it back - had bacon in it. And not listed on Menu. When I asked one of the staff which this was so, he claimed it always did. Incorrect - as I often order it. But simple solution - mention on description please. And we felt rushed - not a nice aura, at all, to experience on VD. But here it was. When we paid, And were asked by one of the apparent ‘Managers,’ How our food was, I told him that it was not nearly as good as previously. Wouldn’t you then ask why??!! POOR. Thank you.
