We stayed here, in a Premier Plus room, for six nights in July 2025. We have stayed in Premier Inns before and Premier Inn Ipswich North is by far the best. Plenty of complimentary parking free WiFi, restaurant was a bit small but adequate and the food was excellent. The staffs were very friendly and helpful; in particular I would like to mention Adam – Duty Manager, Karen – Housekeeping, Angel – Restaurant and Sam R. – Restaurant . In fact everyone we dealt with gave fantastic service. The Premier Plus room was well worth the extra cost, very nicely decorated, nice bathroom with a heated mirror and a great shower. All in a 5 star experience and we would stay there again without hesitation.

We stayed at the Claydon, Ipswich North. Somewhere we have stayed around 30 times in the last 7 years. We always get a room that is on the car park side of the hotel. This time we had to have a room on the other side of the building. Being a light sleeper I thought this would be a problem. After being awoken by traffic noises a dozen times during the night, We closed the window after midnight. At 4:30 am when I knew I was not going back to sleep I went down to complain and was told that we had been allocated a room on the carpark side but we had been moved from this before we turned up at 20:15 I was shown a chart which colour codes all the rooms for noise. Green, Amber and Red. This shows virtually every room not facing the carpark as park to be Red. This means its classed as noisy. Premier Inn guest relations are not bothered about external noise due to location and it is not covered under their goodnight guarantee! The rating of 1 star is directed at guest relations and not the location.

The bed was comfy, the room was clean and the blackout curtains are incredible! I was there for one of the Ed Sheeran gigs and staff had gone the extra mile to decorate the lobby and put themed treats in the rooms which was a lovely personal touch

Perfect stay for the Ed Sheeran concert. Was super impressed with the little touches the team added to make the stay special and memorable. The cardboard cutout of Ed in the lobby, the handmade bracelets for sale at reception (for charity) and the chocolate, postcard and note in the room were all beautiful touches!

The staff cannot do enough for you. You name it they’ll make it happen. During a stressful journey and a taxi cancellation Lauren, Abbie, Angel and Dee all helped sourcing taxis for 22people. Amazing customer service

The staff at this premier inn are sublime. Such a good laugh, such good hostesses, nothing is ever too much. Angel, Abbie, Lesley and the rest are always so helpful and always so positive. The smiles are always beaming and the vibes are always positive. 10/10 would recommend, they always go the extra mile for everyone

We had booked here online for 2 rooms quite a few months earlier and specifically asked for one of the rooms to accommodate one of the family with very limited mobility. This worked out well - a room on the ground floor with a low bed & a bathroom modified for disabled people. We arrived early one evening having parked just outside in the large, well illuminated free car park. The young lady at the reception was friendly enough despite all the extra questions like did we want breakfast?, did we want an evening meal etc.? After a long drive, we didn't know yet - we just wanted to get to our rooms to unwind... Anyway, the rooms were furnished & laid our in exactly the same as we had stayed in other Premier Inns. Mine, shared with another family member, was on the first floor. It was extremely hot in there but opening the window also confirmed how close we really were to the A14 and all the traffic noise - 24/7. Instead of 2 single beds, as requested, they had made up the queen bed and the sofa bed. Not ideal, but we were only there for 4 nights. What I really miss in Premier Inns is a small fridge in the rooms - not for drinks necessarily, but for essential medicines. In the end we didn't take breakfast here - we didn't need a full breakfast each day so tended to rely on the free tea/coffee in the room, we brought in some yogurts/biscuits etc. and then went elsewhere for breakfast. We had dinner there on one of the evenings. All good. We didn't interact with many of the staff as we were on the move most days & only returned late each evening. But those we met were friendly and helpful enough.
