The Lamb Inn

My wife and I had lunch at the Lamb Inn. There is a great ambience from the second you walk through the door, the staff are first class, very accommodating. The food was amazing. We had the sharing plate, which was more than enough for two and really tasty. Looking forward to going back.

We had our elopement wedding at the lamb inn and had a wonderful time. Great first impressions it is a homely, welcoming inn, in a beautiful village. Nick and Vikky were absolutely great as hosts and wedding witnesses. Even filming our special day for us. We couldn't of asked for better hospitality. From all the bar staff also. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, best burger and chocolate brownie me and my now husband, have ever tasted! . We will be back in the future for sure Thankyou Nick and Vikky Xx

This is a lovely old pub. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had an evening meal which was superb. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the room (room 3) was freezing. I can appreciate that it’s difficult to heat an old building, I live in one myself. The person who checked us in was surprised at how cold the room was on arrival but told us the heating would come on and was underground. It didn’t,. the thermostat only reached 13 degrees. There was a small blow heater in the room which managed to Get the heating up to 16 degrees. However, that’s not a comfort heat to relax in. Such a shame, as this spoilt what could have been a great stay. We did mention this problem on departure, so maybe this will be looked at.

Booked two nights for friends funeral at local church -unfortunately my wife's mother fell ill-had to cancel by email within 48 hrs-tried several times to ring to discuss-no answer . Found on credit card bill charged for full rate including breakfast -no communication at all

We had our wedding day at the Lamb Inn in Sandford on Friday 1st Sept 2023. We cannot rate this place highly enough and would rate it 10 out of 5 for every aspect if we could! From the first contact with Nick and Vicky to our goodbyes after the wedding it was just perfection. We wanted a laid back wedding, with some formalities and traditions and that’s exactly what we got. Nick and Vicky reassured us that no question or request would be deemed as silly and they would do their best to accommodate us and we instantly felt at ease. We were able to decorate the Dorwich room ourselves and we had our day as we dreamed of without rules and restrictions being placed on us. Vicky was a superstar, in ‘hosting’ our day. She remembered all the small details that were really important to us and was there when we needed her, without being intrusive. The food and drink was phenomenal, memorably enjoyed by our guests both with a plainer and those with a more adventurous palate. We opted for the sharing platters, which were plentiful - our guests could eat as much or as little as they wanted. The two children we had as guests (included a gluten free child) were accommodated for well and the one vegetarian had a choice of their meal in advance. The venue itself was perfect and quaint. Fortunately the sun shone on us on our day and we had our ceremony outside on the stage, with our guests in the pub garden, but even plan ‘b’ (inside the pub) would have been great too. We stayed the night in the garden room, which was comfortable, luxurious, well equipped (even with a sturdy hook to hang a wedding dress from) . We used the room as a getting ready area and also where the ‘bridal party walk began from. We can not recommend The Lamb Inn highly enough. We, and all our guests ranging from 8 to 86 years had a great time. Thank you to Nick and Vicky and the other staff who made our wedding day all we dreamed of and more.

although quite local had never been to sanford so thought we would give it a try. so glad we did. we had sunday lunch in this really olde worlde pub in sanford.. the sunday lunch was the best we have had in a long long time. amazing quality- we had beef, perfectly cooked, generous portions with piping hot veg, yorkshire puddings and delicious gravy. to follow lemon curd pavlova with pistacios would definitely be back and recommend to anyone

Incredible Sunday Roasts, both tye veggie options and the Beef. Perfect roasties, delicious Yorkshire pudding and well cooked veg. The 2 large slices of beef, served pink, to perfection. We had sourdough and truffel butter to start alo delicious. All out of our original first choice for a pudding to share, but the brownie did not disappoint. Lively and cosy with the fire on and really friendly staff. Thank you

Another great stay at The Lamb Inn. We try and get over this way twice a year, and the welcome is always fantastic. The room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable and the food was excellent Looking forward to our next visit when we can bring our dog as well

Visited on the fly with a friend and despite the pub having a full dining room the team magicked an extra table for us from nowhere and couldn’t have been more attentive or fun! The menu was really difficult to choose from as everything looked fantastic, from your usual pub favourites to some more interesting options and the food we received was really and truly fantastic! Really fresh and good quality ingredients, skilfully put together. Also a great selection of drinks complete with knowledgable recommendations from the staff, and the puddings looked outrageously good, unfortunately we were too full to partake so will have to return another time! Thanks for a lovely evening, will be back!!
