Based on my stays in various countries at similar price points and standards, this place is worth the price paid. While there aren’t many amenities and facilities, I appreciate the cleanliness and the private beach.

The price of a five-star hotel, but the facilities of an old three-star hotel. I even lost a blue dress, and the hotel said that the person who cleaned my room that day would be off the next day. No one gave me an explanation or apology until I left the hotel.

The not so good thing is that the elevator breaks down every day and the toilet breaks down all the time. It took a long time to fix it but it still leaks. I have to manually dial it every time to stop the sound.

Great common areas, nice service and restaurant was pretty good, but the rooms are not nearly as nice as the rest. Very noisy (especially if you are facing the street), matresses were squeaky and bathroom is beyond small. If you are in South Beach to party it's a good place, but for R&R after many busy days traveling, this was not the right fit for us.

I previously wrote a poor review based only on an issue with the booking process. I have removed it because I don’t want anyone to think anything but the best about The Marseilles. After notifying them of the issue I was contacted personally by Maria who immediately rectified the issue. I was then contacted by Julie who proceeded to personally handle every detail of my reservation and made sure that I was completely satisfied! To say she was amazing would be an understatement! As for the hotel, it is wonderful! The location is perfect. The lobby and bar area, pool and cabanas and beach with lounges and umbrellas are all great. Our suite was spacious and had a gorgeous ocean view. What really makes this hotel stand out though is the staff! The staff at the front desk, the waitstaff and bartenders and the whole crew at the pool area were fantastic. Not only to me. I watched them treat every guest as if they were the most important VIP customers. All in all The Marseilles exceeded every expectation and I am already planning my next stay.

There may be a few minor downsides like soundproofing and the fact that it’s a somewhat older hotel, but those are more than made up for by the incredibly friendly staff. You’re welcomed warmly and feel at home the entire time. An absolute gem if you ask me.
