Hotel Clé Reforma Insurgentes

Can't fault it ! Fabulous, friendly hotel. Centrally positioned, with great rooms, immaculately clean. Friendly, helpful staff, and very affordable but exceptional food !! Very comfortable & cosy bar overlooking passers by. All close to the main bus service and metro. If you prefer, the hotel offers an excellent hire car service to take you wherever you want. I would return.

The location is great and feels safe. We walked to cafes and surrounding areas to get a feel for the city and area which has beautiful historic homes, apartments and buildings. The Hotel was sufficiently clean and Comfortable although we were out most of the time. Staff very helpful. I believe the young Hotel manager was not sober when I checked in and felt annoyed at his unprofessional behaviour but that didn’t put me off as all the other staff made up for his obvious incompetence. He didn’t even remember me the following evening considering our interaction which confirmed my suspicions. Besides that this hotel is perfectly fine (not amazing) for what we were paying.

I just left and it was the worst and most embarrassing hotel experience of my life. After a night of dinner a drinks, I brought my partner (who lives in Mexico) back to my room. The staff immediately chased us down upon entry and demanded to know if my partner was a guest then proceeded to make a scene and demand I pay $500 for my literal romantic partner to stay in my hotel room that I already paid for. I have never been so embarrassed, disgusted and felt more taken advantage of in my life! Literally made me feel like a child. What a disgusting, invasive and greedy policy for a hotel to implement. The most abhorrent and rude experience I’ve ever had to deal with on a vacation. Aside from that, I had no internet for 2 days, my door lock was out of batteries for two days, and room service left me no towels. I’m traumatized from this experience and will NEVER stay here again. Take your money and dignity elsewhere. Ruined my entire trip to be treated that way and to be charged for having the staff invade my privacy. ZERO STARS.
