Colima 71 - Casa de Arte Hotel

The property has beautiful rooms and is strategically located in Roma Norte with a lot of great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Would love to come back again when we're back in Mexico City.

Colima 71 is amazing - the staff, service, amenities, and rooms are all incredible. Will definitely be coming back!

Great stay! We had an incredible week long stay at Colima 71. The staff were very attentive to anything we needed and were always a step ahead in helping us. The location is perfect and we had no problems getting to any of our plans across CDMX.

I always disagree with TA's 5 star rating system. Colima 71 was a wonderful stay - there is a beautiful aesthetic outside and in and its ideally located to explore Roma Norte and the surrounding neighborhoods. In fact, we chose this in part because of its proximity to everywhere we wanted to be; last visit's stay in Reforma at the St Regis was really enjoyable but that wasn't where we chose to spend our time. But is it a 5 star experience? Close - and here's why. Lots of things to love here. Its truly lovely and the staff is very friendly and accessible at nearly all hours on WhatsApp for any questions. They invite you to order the "free" (more on this later) breakfast via a link each day, scheduling the time you'd like it to arrive. (We stayed 3 nights and it came early one day, later another and on time a third so the hit rate is variable but the offerings are very good). The towels are almost obscenely fluffy and the shower had good water pressure. The toiletries are made with honey; I inquired on where to find them after my stay and they told me they didn't know but its worth finding out if you can. The wifi worked flawlessly and I appreciated not having to log in each day. Our balcony overlooking the interior courtyard was tiny but functional and we took breakfast there each morning. As noted in prior reviews, the morning pastries come from Rosetta Panaderia down the street without having to wait in the queue. That's a win. The rooms are spacious - true studios - with big comfortable beds, outlets where you want them and plenty of space to unpack and put clothes away. We had an issue with noise the first night - despite being told the room was soundproof at check in, we heard everything: sirens, dogs, people downstairs in the foyer. We mentioned it to the front desk and the following two nights were silent. I'm not sure what changed, but we appreciated it very much. What detracted for us, however, was the lack of value. As this is highly subjective, maybe it wouldn't bother another traveler that on arrival, they would be informed of a $40/night "service fee" that was not mentioned anytime prior at booking or in emails. As breakfast was included in the stay, and there were no other amenities to note that might warrant this charge (no fitness center, spa/sauna, etc) and since filtered water was the only included beverage apart from breakfast, it was confusing and frustrating. At the end of the day, really, we were paying $40 for breakfast without the opportunity to opt out of it. I understand these charges when something travels with them - discounts at the restaurant, free drinks in the fridge, tours or bikes included in the stay, but this wasn't the case here. And it left a bad taste in our mouth. There's no way to refuse a service charge when you're standing in the lobby at check in after a morning of travel. It was a truly lovely stay in so many respects but I think when we return - and we plan to - we will stay elsewhere in the

Calming Room, Helpful Staff, Amazing Breakfast A near perfect hotel. Comfortable room, fantastic coffee, and helpful staff. The morning breakfast featuring phenomenal pastries and their excellent coffee truly sets this place apart.

Spacious studio was a great home-base in vibrant Roma Norte and the terrace was a “window on the world” outside. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast in our room each day started the day on the right note. Recommended!
