Best Western Plus Pastures Hotel

Friendly and helpful staff. Speedy service in both the restaurant and the pub. Nice and clean. Would benefit from a better coffee machine and electric car charging point.

Was a really clean hotel lovely room and excellent breakfast all you can eat buffet style. Pub on the grounds as well. Great value for money

I would like to take a moment to commend the entire team at the Best Western Hotel Pastures in Mexborough for their outstanding service and hospitality. In particular, I’d like to highlight the exceptional support provided by Sharon and Glynn. As a wedding photographer, my role often involves coordinating with venue staff, and both Sharon and Glynn went above and beyond to assist me throughout the day. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to help in any way made my job significantly easier and contributed to a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Sharon and Glynn are true assets to your team and a credit to your business. My experience at the hotel was made all the more positive thanks to their efforts, and I would not hesitate to recommend the venue to others.

We were seduced into thinking this was going to be a very nice place as we entered from the country side, Mexborough has to be one of the least welcoming places we've ever been to. The staff here were lovely, food across the car park was nice, unfortunately a drunken lout in that bar ruined the evening for us, threatened myself, my husband and even our seven year old son, the staff across the way didn't seem to want to help even though they knew who this guy was, seems to be a normal occurrence. For future reference if you see a tanned, wrinkly faced older guy with curly hair and a scowl and about 5 teeth in his head steer clear, ***** or alcohol or both and he's a very violent character. Really let the experience down an awful lot. After Googling Mexborough it does seem like it's a very rough area so unfortunately we won't be returning. Staff in the actual hotel were lovely especially the older gentleman that evening that helped calm my terrified son down. Staff at the play place for children were all brilliant too. I just really feel like more could have been done by the bar staff. Room was nice and clean, shower was a bit weird and leaked everywhere, we had to use towels all over the bathroom floor and was told this room always does that. Room is sweltering at night even with the window open and also incredibly dark, lights have to be on from first thing in the morning.

Looks nice outside, the staff were friendly. The room was okay, curtain rail fell down instantly and there was a fair bit of dust collected around the room. The shower was good, good pressure and heats up really fast. We had £40 to use in the restaurant included in the room but couldn’t use the restaurant in the hotel as it was closed. We had to go use it in the Pastures Lodge across the car park which was delicious and I’d recommend going there instead if the food in the restaurant is anything like the breakfast we had from there. The worst part of the stay had to be the breakfast. We had the continental breakfast included in our trip, it was more like a primary school breakfast club. Cereal, a few croissants, plain or apricot yoghurt, and bread with a toaster were the options we had. Very depressing setup, I felt like I was at a funeral, especially with the 80s songs playing quietly in the background as I ate. I don’t think I’d go back, however you can’t really complain for the price.

The hotel was very clean and nice, when checked on the following day, we aired our dissppointment to Michelle about our no so Welcoming Check in experince. Michelle was very apologetic, as was another member of staff who at the reception. What didn't I like?: We arrived 20mins before our scheduled check in time at 14:00, when I ask the receptionist if we can check 2omins early? I got a long hostile look, then a reply saying " No you're room won't be ready until 14L00, come back then!" I sensed that this person was about to go home, she didn't even ask my name. I looked around the car park which was literally empty as was the hotel, I was taken back by this attitude. When I finally checked in, we were greeted by very polite staff who had just started their shift at 14:00! I rest my case.
