Called in for a drink and something to eat. First thing we noticed was the smell of dogs, it was quite overwhelming. The floor seemed sticky and we cleaned our own table with wet wipes I had in my bag. We found a table at the back of the pub where the smell wasn't too overpowering. Ordered food and drinks. Bar staff were not particularly friendly. At this point we should have left but we were tired and hungry travellers. Food arrived and was mediocre at best. We used the loo before we went & they were a bit grotty. It's sad that such a lovely looking pub is so horrible inside . We left and found the Harbour Tavern , what a contrast! When we walked home we passed the Ship to find the staff smoking outside, moaning about the customers. They could have been more discreet about it! We wouldn't recommend or will going back.

Food was pretty good but room wasn’t. The staff do the best they can. Parking was a fair ways away. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Arrived at The Ship, had to fight our way in through the crowded pub. Free public parking advertised, but there is none had to pay for parking about 5 minutes walk away. It was very noisy, especially in the early morning, dustmen, bottle collecting and deliveries. Returned to pub first evening after a walk with a sign in the doorway saying “full, come back later” so went elsewhere to eat.

Value for money stay Have stayed at the Ship a few times over the years so knew what to expect. Nothing has changed it’s an old building. Staff were excellent meal in the evening and breakfast next day were both good. Very central location

Room in the heart of Mevagissey Stayed here a couple of nights. It’s right in the very heart of the village. The room and breakfast were fine. For the veg breakfast we had crumpets with egg.

Heart of Mevagissey Great old Cornish inn in the heart of the village, just a few yards from the harbour. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Cosy Authentic Pub with Rooms - Great Food! The Ship is a really interesting and authentic place to stay and provides excellent food, drink and service. The staff were really friendly and helpful, despite having struggled to keep the pub open as a result of recent spring tide flooding of the bar. The room was homely and comfortable, but a little maintenance would be good
