This was an appalling experience- the building and the surroundings are beautiful but the hotel is run down and overpriced. There were lots of minor problems- only 1 cup in the room for 2 people for tea and coffee, no fan in the room (reception told us there was a fan in the cupboard) on a 30 degree summers day. The bar service was limited (no beers or gin). The shower gel ran out in the shower. The worst thing was returning to the room after dinner it was infested with ants which were clearly attracted to something that hadn’t been cleaned up. Worse still was the fact that there was no one at reception and the “emergency number” in the room did not work. We couldn’t connect with either the room phone or a mobile phone. We had to find the cleaning cupboard and clear up the ants ourselves. The evening meal and breakfast was basic and very expensive for what you got. It’s such a shame as we stayed there 3 years ago and had a wonderful experience.

We stayed in room 301 - after the worst meal in France for dinner we went to our room to be met with several infestations of ants and bugs. There was no one on site to complain to so we were left with finding a hoover and sucking the bugs up - needless to say we did not Sleep that night - the infestations were also in our luggage the next day as well - we complained to The hotel and we were advised by maxim the manager that they would support our refund request through booking . Com - it has now been 2 weeks since we raised complaint and today we heard that they are now not supporting our complaint ! This hotel is being run into the ground , there is no love being g shown whatsoever , the garden is full of pots filled with fag butts and dead plants , the restaurant serves food they clearly don’t make on site and is inedible - the staff are absent , this used to be a Logis and was a great overnight stay - the Logis sign is still on hotel but there is no affiliation anymore - it’s also 180 euros a night so not cheap ! Shame as the view is to die for -

Really bad. Dirty. Room not cleaned, stairs dirty. Place to avoid. Really really bad. We cancelled the included breakfast because we didn’t trust it. Just do not go there. 140€ in the bin. Everybody came out off this place looking unhappy.

Beautiful rustic hotel with amazing view of the Loire River. I truly felt like I was back in time. I was a bit surprised by the self check in, but figured it out. The hotel restaurant was nice, and many restaurants are a quarter mile walk into town. Excellent breakfast.

Liked the location, the building, toilet paper & breakfast if early as not replenished & dinner. Disliked far from a superior room as decor very shabby & not chic. Needs some money spent on bathroom refit & complete redecoration of rooms & public ways.

Captivated by the historical significance of the property regarding Joan of Arc and the Battle of Orleans. Late booking had us 57 narrow stairs up in a non-air conditioned room which did not excite my husband but it overlooked the river and the moon view compensated all that for me.

DEUXIEME SEJOUR LUOIS XI Sejour professionnel, C'est mon deuxième séjour chez eux, avec un nouvel appareil pour avoir les clés (quand il y a la clé) Rien de dérangeant mais pour le " iem age plus difficile. Pour info j,avais 7 nuitées en sur mon compte qui ont disparue est-ce normale Merci de revenir vers moi Cordialement

amazing. lovely. welcoming. authentic. Beautiful courtyard garden. Elegant rooms. Our children and us were charmed by it and would go out of our way to return here next time. Really welcoming person in charge. Dog friendly. Lovely views
