Hotel Old House Mestia

The hotel is in a beautiful location in the old part of Mestia and the restaurant offers excellent Georgian dishes: these are the positive things. Our room was quite spacious but spartan; not particularly clean and above all it was never made up in the three days we were there (waste bins not emptied and towels not changed!). We had asked for a room with a balcony, but the terrace was unusable. Breakfast was a bit poor. They only accept cash payments. When asked for some advice on how to get around to go trekking in the surrounding area, the staff was unable to give any answer, as if they too had only arrived in Mestia a day ago. The feeling is that there is great confusion. The height of confusion was in fact reached on our departure: we had warned several times that we would have to leave early in the morning (at 7, well after dawn!) to take our transfer. We found ourselves with the hotel doors barred, locked inside!, we had to leave by climbing over the veranda and lowering ourselves into the street. There must be better places in Mestia.

I stayed with my family in Old House Mestia for two days. Simply fantastic! The view is enchanting, the hosts and the staff very friendly. The hotel manager Nita was very accommodating. At the end we received the locally produced spices from the owner, called "Svanuri Marili" as a gift. Whenever we are in Mestia, we always like to come back to you!!!! I was alone and a little lonely, but I had a great time with the wonderful staff. Their hospitality was great and the restaurant was open until late, so I don't think you'll regret staying there.
