Beautiful place and well located on the river. Kayaking was a lot of fun. The food experience was amazing. Rooms are good too. Breakfast experience was amazing ! Renata in particular was very cheery and helpful, she made our stay wonderful.

We planned our 4 week trip to Portugal around our dates booked at this lodging and we are soooo glad we did! Can we give it 7 stars?!? We felt like family from when we walked in the door until we left. Gracious hosts, attentive, but not obtrusive, staff…if I could make a choice for improvement, I would have none to offer. Perfectomundo! The service is genuine and heartfelt and all of their recommendations were spot on. They recommended that we avoid the corporate wine tastings and instead focus on small, organic vintners and the tastings there were fabulous. We rode the E bikes to Santa Teresa for a picnic lunch and it was a highlight of our whole trip. Also, Quinta de Tourais was wonderful, and we had a lovely time with the winemakers. If you visit, make sure you book the Chef’s table and/or Greenhouse dinners, they are terrific as Chef Miguel is a genius. Also, the guided wine tasting was quite informative, even to this old guy wine drinker! Truth be told, on the last of our four days here, we spent the day at the pool eating chocolate mousse and enjoying the beautiful view! Perfect day!

Our stay at Quinta de S. Bernardo was the highlight of our Portugal trip. The team made us feel welcome at home, from greeting us with smiles to picking us up at the train station in a golf cart just a small gesture that felt huge after a travel day. The vineyard itself was stunning. We wandered the vines, relaxed in the cozy patio spaces, and enjoyed the river views from what we’re convinced was the best room on the property. The boutique design was thoughtful and elegant and luxurious without ever feeling pretentious. We experienced their wine tasting and vineyard tour, an unforgettable chef’s table dinner with Miguel (who was informative, gracious, and hilarious), and an intimate dinner in the greenhouse while it rained. The staff brought every dish out in the rain with umbrellas and made it feel charming instead of chaotic. We offered to move inside so they wouldn't have to make the trip but they insisted we get the full experience. Rita deserves her own shout-out. She’s a mixologist, sommelier, host, and honorary cousin all in one. Truly an absolute joy to be around. Even at checkout, they went above and beyond, offering to pack us a simple ham and cheese sandwich for the road because they knew dinner was hours away. I don’t even like ham and cheese, but that sandwich was perfection. We’ve stayed in beautiful places before, but few have ever felt this personal. We’ll be back for sure and next time, we’re staying longer.

We loved staying at this farmhouse and winery. Our room in the old house was well arranged and had a small terrace with a personal pool. More like a hot tub, but not that warm but very inviting. We had great views of the Douro River from our room and from the dining areas. We enjoyed dinner in the Garden House , which holds 8 people. The 3-hour wine tasting was educational and 8 of the 9 wines ranged from good to darn good. The staff is warm and professional, but more relaxed than in Porto. I think 3 nights with a side trip to nearby Pinhao is enough. Lots of river boats go by and you could take the train .

Perfect stay
Perfect honeymoon stay. Staff was incredible. Restaurant was amazing. The property was so beautiful. The building itself was so comfortable and the room was excellent. Will absolutely stay here again.
