Staybridge Suites Merrillville

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Front desk associates are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. Housekeeping readily will ask if you need anything and are friendly. Bonus - use of washers and dryers are included in your stay, so you don't need to bring change when doing your laundry! The breakfast that was available during my stay very good. (There are enough options to choose from)

and booked Staybride in Merrillville, Indiana over a year ago for her wedding. I recommended the Staybridge because it the hotel of choice for my husband and I. My daughter asked for blocked rooms for the family and wedding party. The hotel doesn’t offer blocked rooms. We had many guests that booked and gave the great business to Staybridge because guests stayed for 1-2 nights . This was a disaster when it came time to check in. Half of the guest rooms that were booked were no longer in the system. We had to scramble to find hotel accommodations. I was so embarrassed because I suggested the Staybridge.

Very disappointed with condition of this hotel. soiled carpets, old damaged furniture, ran out ot regular coffee and hot water at breakfast: Staybridge is presumed to be an IHG upscale facility and so we expected more. Stayed one night. Photos attached.

We were in Crown Point for the baseball World Series for 2 weeks and called the Staybridge home. The staff was amazing and so friendly. Everyone from the front desk staff to kitchen workers and housekeepers. Will look into other properties when traveling!

Nice spacious, clean, cozy Suites Hotel. We were given Room 426, a very nice Suite with a full Kitchen that is fully stocked with all the appliances and plates/cups/bowls/pans and utensils already in place, full Refrigerator and large Microwave, and counter Table with Stools for sitting in the Kitchen area. A separate living room space with a door, and sleeper sofa. 2 TVs in the Suite. NO personal Safe in the Suite. The Bathroom Sink area is separated from the Toilet and Tub/Shower, the Bathroom Sink is with plenty of drawers to store your toiletries, and is next to a large closet space in the Bedroom area. However if you are sleeping and someone uses the Bathroom Sink there is no door to separate the Bathroom Sink area from the Bedroom area. The Beds are comfortable and the room is spacious with a Dresser Drawer. There is plenty of good onsite Complimentary Parking for Guests. There is NO SWIMMING POOL, but there is a nice outdoor small Patio Seating that has 2 cooking Grills for Guests to use. On some days the Hotel gives the Guests a complimentary light fare Dinner (Tacos and Beverages). The Complimentary Breakfast is very very minimal in items that it offers and is not well stacked, the Staff during our stay did not keep enough food out, and the Breakfast Service was poor and the attitude of the Breakfast Staff was not welcoming and caring, just doing their job, which might be to the fact that there was only one staff doing the Breakfast area, person may have been overwhelmed with the work. Otherwise the Hotel was a nice stop over.

We had reserved a wheelchair accessible room through the national reservation system; our confirmation email stated that we reserved an accessible room. We we checked in they did not have a wheelchair accessible room. The manager was rude to us and repeatedly said that we had made a mistake when we reserved the room. Later when we called the parent company, IHG, we were told that our original reservation was for a wheelchair room, but the day before our arrival, the reservation had been changed locally by the Merrillville location. Overall this experience set a poor tone for the beginning of this trip. The IHG corporate office where we filed our complaint was helpful.

The is a very nice hotel. Very eco friendly, too. The rooms are great with lots of amenities. The shower was wonderful—great water pressure. The breakfast had a lot of choices and was hot and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. They assisted us with the best route to our destination. I would definitely stay here again when in this area.

We were there for two nights. My family loved the lay-out of the room. The full kitchen was fantastic! We were able to sleep 5 people comfortably. We do wish they had a pool, for some reason I thought they did when I booked. My family enjoyed the breakfast options on both days. Our only complaint was the HVAC- the first night, we set the temp to 72, and at 73 degrees tried to lower the heat to 68 and the temp of the room increased a degree. Turned the air off completely, temp increased another degree to 75! I finally turned on the air conditioning at 2 in the morning and that helped. Also, the first night, we tried to close the curtains, to block out the parking lot lights, and weren't successful. After I'd purchased chip bag clips to close them, I found the black out curtains that were pushed way to the outer edge of the window.

We enjoy that Staybridge Suites include a refrigerator and kitchen area. This make traveling with foods that are best kept cool (water, soda, etc) easier. Front desk clerk was very helpful. Hot breakfast was included. Room was clean and would stay there again if traveling thru the area again.
