Meredith Inn

The Meredith Inn is a charming place that is well run, comfortable, welcoming, and very clean. Our stay was just for one night but we wished that it could have been more. Amy and Nick offer gracious hospitality, accommodating service, and a grand breakfast. The inn is about a ten minute walk from the center of Meredith, which is a small village at the northern end of Lake Winnipesaukee, with plenty of good restaurants, some very nice shops, and an unhurried atmosphere. Our room (Beech Hill Room) at the Inn had many nice touches, including plenty of windows, nicely chosen antique furniture, a comfortable bed, and a quiet corner where two streets meet. We hope that we have a chance to return.

This is an excellent B&B; the hosts Amy and Nick were wonderful! The accommodations and bed are incredibly comfortable and cozy. If you are looking to stay in the area this is the palce.

Warmly welcomed to this beautiful, well-maintained inn surrounded by flowers. It's on a hill, easily walkable to amenities. The breakfast was scrumptious with perfectly ripe fruit and French toast from thick baguette with New Hampshire maple syrup. Some patrons took a dip in Lake Winnipesaukee before breakfast. But the most delightful of all were Amy and Nick, proud, knowledgeable and joyful hosts who obviously love meeting the myriad guests who visit.

My wife and I had a great stay here. The inn keepers are terrific. They truly take the time to know their guests. The breakfasts are delicious! We stayed in the Beech Hill room, and most certainly met our needs ( and came with AC). Walking distance to the town and easy access to surrounding attractions. Great spot and would most certainly return

Amy greeted us warmly and showed us to our excellent, spacious and well appointed room with comfortable king bed and a whirlpool bath. The breakfasts cooked by her New Zealnder husband, Nick, were quite good. Meredith is a great central location on the lake and we had great hiking at nearby Castle in the Clouds and kayaking just down the street. Excellent restaurants are a short walk away including Lake House Grille.

The Meredith Inn is like a big old comfortable chair you can sink into and relax. From the moment we started the booking process Janet Carpenter, the owner, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very spacious, clean and with plenty of storage. The housekeeping for quests is impeccable. While the house retains old style Victorian charm with eclectic furnishings (some pieces ie. clocks made by Janet's grandfather) and old family photos, the plumbing is new world efficient. The showers (rooms 1 and 4 have showers, no tubs) are strong and very hot. At the time of our stay rooms 1 and 4 did not have wifi but Janet was working to rectify that. Wifi is available in the common room. In the common room coffee, tea and hot chocolate are always available as Janet explains when greeting the guests. Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 9:30 in the dining room and also in the common room depending on the number of guests. Janet is a wonderful cook and the breakfasts are delicious alternating one day eggs the next a sweeter choice (pancakes, french toast etc.) Orange, grapefruit, and cranberry juices are offered, and some variety of fresh fruit and yogurt are always on the table. Eggs are prepared how the guest would like. I can vouch the omelettes are wonderful with a variety of fillings available. There is ample parking at the back of the house, and the inn is ideally located only a five minute walk from town. It's a nice town to wander around with a small park on the lake front and also, at least at the time of our stay, a sculpture tour that takes a walker through the town. Meredith itself is very well situated for trips to the White Mountains, Cog Railway, Kancamagus Highway, Lake Winnipesaukee cruise on the Mount Washington as well as driving around the lake with stops along the way. It was a lovely four night stay.
