Hampton Inn Princeton

This was a one night stay. We checked into our room and didn’t have any water- no toilet, no shower, no sink. We went back downstairs and let them know and they said it was due to construction and the water would be back on in an hour. It wasn’t, so we went to dinner. Thankfully we finally had water. Not a great way to spend time in a hotel, when half the time we were there, we didn’t have any water to the room. Location was great, but there are other hotels around. They should have told us before booking about the construction.

Not a good experience at this location. The woman at the Front Desk was flustered when I went to check-in. She asked for a minute and then another said to her that she sent the person in front of me to a room that had not yet been cleaned. This took several minutes for the two of them to straighten out. I was then checked in, went to my room to find someone else's luggage in the room that turned out to the be the people in front of me. The women apologized several times, but I don't think they truly understood the gravity of how the situation could have went sideways quickly. I asked for another room, but was asked by the woman who checked me to please wait a few minutes while the moved the other people out of my room to another. She then said that they were short staffed and that the two of them were called to this location from another location. I did not get an explanation on why rooms were still not yet cleaned at 6:30 PM at night. Knowing that there was a shortage of staff and cleaned rooms, I waited the situation out. I am middle aged man who knows how to defend himself. However, if this had occurred to a female friend of family member, I would not have been as calm and professional. I think I'll avoid this location going forward.

Disappointed Our stay was fine. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times. When we entered our room, there was a lot of dirt in the carpet

Overall, this hotel was an excellent choice for my stay in the area. I was driving in and out of Bluefield each day, which was just 16-20 minutes of gorgeous scenery each trip. The room was clean and the mattress/bedding was so comfortable. I chose a fifth floor room with a great view. The breakfast in the lobby was decent for what it is. I don't eat bread/bagels/waffles/biscuits (they had all of this), so I stuck with the hot dish of the day. Two of the days it was scrambled eggs (egg beaters) and sausage patties. The middle day was a fiesta omelet, sausage links, and breakfast potatoes/peppers and that was all filling and delicious There is also fruit and yogurt (just sugary yogurt, though, and not greek w/probiotics). If you're traveling with kids, there is milk and chocolate milk they might like. One of my days I had breakfast across the highway at Dolly's Diner, which I highly recommend! Make sure you get there at least once! There was always coffee, tea, and water for guests in the lobby as well. The staff was all very friendly--Anthony being the most standout. That guy is seriously gifted in making people feel welcome and seen even as they're just passing through. I will for sure be staying with this Hampton Inn again when I come back to the area next year!

The front desk was great and accommodating. I believe it was a women called Destiny that greeted us and made sure our stay was enjoyable.

Not great. Not bad. Just fair I've stayed here a few times. It's a good stop for it's location, but the building is starting to get a little older and in need of repair in a few spots. The bathrooms could be cleaner, for sure... Not a fan of mold, soap scum and hair in the showers. Had a couple times where the room didn't have hot eater. The Texas Steakhouse next door is pretty terrible, too. Probably eat elsewhere.
