I stay at Hampton’s across the country as a choice, but if they were all like the one in Mentor, OH I’d have to rethink my options. 1) my room smelled horrible, very musty, moved to a different room 2) the AC in the 2nd room would make an abrupt sound every time the compressor shut off 3) no dark roast coffee available for breakfast 4) strong smell of pot in the hallways 5) could hear the doors closing from adjacent rooms 6) the breakfast selections were not as plentiful as I’m used to at a Hampton Inn 7) the business center did not have a computer available for guests The hotel staff was great. The location is good.

Booked a room in February of 2025, vacation was planned for June 13 , showed up approximately 4:30 pm walked in door ,at check in was met by Nate,he proceeded to tell me my room was canceled ,i asked why, because they overbooked, I asked to speak to the manager , no manager was there, there were three of us, I booked for two days , was offered a I bedroom room for one day, What is a reservation for if you cannot hold it. I left and found another hotel. No one ever reached out to me to apologize or offer any compensation,It’s no July still no one has reached out to us, what kind of customer service is this ?I warn anyone stay away from Hampton Inn & Suites Mentor Ohio!!!

The hotel was newly renovated and that's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars. We were give an ADA room despite not reserving one online. When we asked for a different room so this could be reserved for someone who needed it, we were told they were "sold out". The room had no hangers for our dresses that we need to hang for an event the next day. The room also had no iron or ironing board. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom. When we called the front desk we were told "they had all been thrown out since several of them weren't working and they had not been replaced". None of this would've been an issue had we not had an event the next day that we needed to be dressed up for. Wish we would've known all this before as we probably would've booked a different hotel.

Newly renovated and still needs work. Rooms are stuffy and musty and the AC units dont work. Check your door to make sure it latches shut. The walls are so thin, ask for a top floor room to avoid listening to footsteps over your head.
